I need some tech help with an SD card.  It's an older one, SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB.  My computer doesn't recognize it, and I don't have a camera for it anymore.  After the computer wouldn't recognize, me and buddy went a bought a USB reader thinking maybe it was just my port on the computer.  The reader detects something plugged in, the light comes on, but it doesn't show anything on the computer itself.  I know the reader works because I plugged some other cards in and they work fine. 

I've read that memory cards can just go bad, but is there a cheap way to recover the photos?  There's nothing important like graduation, or baby photos, but there are some "important" pictures that we would like to get from the card lol.  Any way to retrieve these, or are they lost forever?  I'd even be willing to mail the thing to someone if they could help me out.
