On 60 Minutes last night, they ran a story on heroin and how heroin addiction is showing up in suburbs and rural portions of the country. The story was mostly centered around Columbus and interviewed addicts and families from the area that have been devastated by heroin addiction. Addiction either starting out as a party drug, or from an addiction to prescribed pain pills from an injury.
It was hard to watch and very sad. Hopefully the exposure helps parents of teens address the issue with their kids. I think rural pill/heroin addiction is a widely under-reported story.
