Which defensive player can OSU least afford to lose and why?

Has to be Nathan Williams or Heyward.  I think Solomon Thomas showed he's not either of those guys and Melvin Fellows is still MIA...or should I say injured in action?  Ohio State's defensive line needs to be in the backfield almost immediately to protect the back 7 and that zone they sit in.

Seems like there's plenty of focus up front to handle a loss, but the secondary was in lala land for much of the game against EMU. Tighten it up!

gotta go with Chimdi. Maybe if the secondary was completly healthy i would go with Rolle as he is the one directing traffic out there, but as is, a loss to our #1 CB would be pretty brutal.

Just from a depth standpoint, I think we are better up front. Chimdi is, therefore, key, imo.

And we'll drink to old Ohio, 'Til we wobble in our shoes!

Nathan Williams is not near the ball exactly 1 play only when he is on the field. Take him away and Thomas does not relieve the pressure for Heyward... Nathan"TheSnake"Williams!!! Watch closely, and you will agree, there is not a play where he is farther than 1 yard away or actually making the play!!!

Chimdi. We're too thin at secodnary to lose him. Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't suck.

We've been watching different games for the past 3 years apparently.

My dad always bitches that "Chekwa must suck cuz they keep throwing at him" and I re-tort, "he must be good if Tressel keeps him out there guarding the #1 receiver."

Orhian Johnson hands down. Thin at secondary and he is already the second string after losing Barnet. Losing Johnson means third string free saftey.

Have to go with Chimdi.  Watching EMU scoring 20 points on our backup CB's was brutal.

Hard to choose between Homan and Rolle, but Homan has done it all so far... he's a bit taller than Rolle so he's better at dropping into coverage and just naturally a better tackler. Losing him would definitely put more pressure on the defensive backs in underneath coverage in a time when (as of late) we are already struggling with our secondary coverages. Plus our blitzing with the D-line has not YET been as effective as hoped to be, so we see more LBs involved in blitz packages... if Homan (or Rolle) were to go down, we may see less effective blitzes, or exposed underneath coverages w/ only 1 "star" LB.

Btw, why isn't Moeller one of the selections?
