Nine years ago today, May 17, 2008, to be exact, 11-year-old Dwayne Haskins, hailing from Potomac, Maryland, visited Jim Tressel's Ohio State program in Columbus, Ohio.

Haskins, who grew up idolizing Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith, declared his intentions to one day play quarterback for the Buckeyes.

"This is awesome," a young Haskins says in the video above, released by the football program Wednesday morning. "I want to go to college here."

The young man would do just that in February 2016 when he signed with Urban Meyer's team. It's unknown whether young Haskins foresaw his commitment (and eventual decommitment) from his home-state Maryland Terrapins, too).

That would be down right freaky, if so.

Haskins will battle Joe Burrow this fall for the right to back up J.T. Barrett to begin the 2017 season, which starts Aug. 31 in Bloomington, Indiana, against the Hoosiers.
