It doesn't sound like Urban Meyer plans to bring in another coordinator to replace Luke Fickell.

"I'm not finalized with all that yet," Meyer said Thursday. "What happens down the road, I haven't made any decisions."

Fickell left to become the head coach at Cincinnati last week. He spent the last five years as the Buckeyes' defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

According to Meyer, it sounds like the plan is for cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs and safeties coach Greg Schiano to have even more on their plates next season to make up for Fickell's departure. Schiano is the co-defensive coordinator this season and could slide in as the full-time spot next year while Coombs will assist him.

"Kerry Coombs will be expanded in the pass defense department and he’s earned that right," Meyer said. "With an even more expanded role like Greg, he needs that."
