Ohio State cornerback Wayne Davis, a freshman four-star signee from Virginia, and offensive tackle Malcolm Pridgeon, a four-star JUCO transfer from New York, lost their black stripes Saturday.
Ryan Stamper, Ohio State's Director of Player Development, introduced both players in front of the team before each gave a quick speech.
Most importantly, however, is an apparent Pridgeon health update. Pridgeon suffered a knee injury in August that doctors expected to sideline him for two to three months.
And it looks like the 6-8, 324-pound man could be ready for a playoff run. Pridgeon appeared in all pads after practice, and thanked the training staff for "getting him back to healthy" after his injury.
If game-ready, Pridgeon could provide a massive solution as the coaching staff looks to shore up its pass defense before playing Clemson on Dec. 31.
