Before it even had a commitment, Ohio State's 2016 class was expected to be legendary. It hasn't disappointed.

Last year, Ohio State was dragging through the doldrums of summer as some fans openly fretted about the state of Buckeye recruiting. It's funny (read: awesome) how a championship can change things.

National Signing Day 2016 is a little under seven months away, but Scout released its latest rankings of the upcoming high school senior class, and 75% of OSU's committed class is featured in the Top 300.

BUCKS IN SCOUT 300
RANK PLAYER POSITION STARS
21 KAREEM WALKER RB ★★★★★
31 JONATHAN COOPER OLB ★★★★
68 DEMARIO MCCALL RB ★★★★
72 GEORGE HILL RB ★★★★
85 AUSTIN MACK WR ★★★★
89 JAKE HAUSMANN TE ★★★★
98 TRISTEN WALLACE ATH ★★★★
145 MICHAEL JORDAN OT ★★★★
161 TYLER GERALD OG ★★★★
259 TERRELL HALL DE ★★★★
271 KIERRE HAWKINS TE ★★★★
278 TUF BORLAND OLB ★★★★

According to the "by ranking" search of Ohio State's class, here's how Scout ranked the rest of Ohio State's class: Jack Wohlabaugh, ★★★ (C); Malik Burrow, ★★★ (DT); Kareem Felder, ★★★ (CB), and Drue Chrisman, ★★★ (P).

You might be saying, "This seems extremely good." That's because it is. Here's where 2016 team recruiting rankings stand according to the recruiting service:

RANK SCHOOL CONFERENCE POINTS TOP 100 COMMITS
1 OHIO STATE BIG TEN 2811 7
2 MICHIGAN STATE BIG TEN 2505 1
3 MIAMI (FL) ACC 2482 0
4 FLORIDA STATE ACC 2448 4
5 LSU SEC 2405 5

Yes, Ohio State currently has more Top 100 commits than the next three teams combined. Oh, and that margin could grow soon too.

Nick Bosa, the No. 2 overall player in the country, has long been considered an Ohio State lean.
