D'Angelo Russell was the crown jewel of Thad Matta's 2014 recruiting class. The 6'5" shooting guard out of Louisville was considered by many recruiting services to be a five-star talent.
And early returns show Russell is not only living up to the hype, but will also be able to contribute big things immediately.
Russell's scoring prowess (and apparent offensive creativity) will be a welcome boost for a team that struggled to score points during large swaths of play last season. So enjoy him while you can, Basketbuck fans, because D'Angelo Russell might not be around Columbus for too long.
