Former Ohio State defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is visiting the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a report from ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Hankins is an NFL free agent for the second year in a row after being released in March by the Indianapolis Colts following the first year of a three-year, $30 million contract. Hankins previously visited the Washington Redskins shortly after being released, but remains unsigned – much like last year, when Hankins waited until April to sign with the Colts despite being considered one of the top defensive linemen on the free agent market.

The Jets have already signed one former Buckeye in free agency with last month's addition of Terrelle Pryor. In total, the Jets currently have four former Ohio State players on their roster, including Darron Lee, Jalin Marshall and Devin Smith. Now, they could be looking to add another.

Hankins could be a fit to play either nose tackle or defensive end in the Jets' 3-4 defensive front. The Colts cited their change from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 scheme in releasing Hankins last month.
