Nick Vannett is joining his eighth NFL team.
Nashville is the next stop for the former Ohio State tight end’s NFL career as the Tennessee Titans agreed to terms to sign Vannett on Monday.
Vannett will continue his career with the Titans after spending time last year with the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers. After spending the preseason with the Texans, Vannett joined the Chargers and made five starts in eight games, catching one pass for 3 yards while playing primarily as a blocker.
A third-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2016, Vannett spent three years and a part of a fourth season in Seattle before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019. Vannett has also played for the Denver Broncos (2020), New Orleans Saints (2021-22) and New York Giants (2022).
In 94 career games across eight seasons, Vannett has made 43 starts and caught 91 passes for 877 yards and six touchdowns.
He is one of four former Ohio State tight ends currently on an NFL roster along with Luke Farrell (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jeremy Ruckert (New York Jets) and Cade Stover (Texans).
Seventeen of the 20 NFL players from Ohio State who became free agents this offseason after playing in 2023 have now signed new contracts for the 2024 season.
