Urban Meyer has produced some great college QBs. Only one has succeeded in the NFL, Alex Smith, but even that's debated by some -- because of the type of QB he is.
I've said before that JTB is very similar to Alex Smith. Their "cerebral" approach. Their coaches on the field. Neither is known for downfield passing. They play smart, short games, they spread the ball around.
And as a Chief's fan -- the fanbase reaction to Alex (a year in year out 10-12 win QB) is similar to our fanbase reaction to JTB. When the Chiefs drafted Pat Mahomes (KC's Haskins) people were excited because he is a gunslinger and has a canon. Some are tired of Alex Smith - believing the Chiefs can't win the big game with him.
