Thanks for posting Alex. For those who don't want to spend nearly 6 minutes watching that, here are two remarks that stood out to me. Asked how he would rate his FNL visit to OSU on a scale of 1-10, RW says "a high 8." When asked about his interest in Georgia, RW smiles and says "I'm a Georgia boy." Long time to go in his recruitment, but this guy is a looong way from coming to OSU imo.
he's a good kid, smart, knows his coaches, gets 'the game'. hope he's in s&g when it's all said and done. i think when he comes to the shoe to see the buckeyes beat on michigan in the best gameday environment in the country he will be be sold!
I actually think the georgia boy comment is revealing that he may be favoring OSU. When asked what he likes about each he said the amazing tradition at OSU with The Game and whatnot, but all he could say about Georgia was the fact that he was from there. Also, he kept referring back to Ohio State throughout the interview
When asked if he had any other trips planned he responded, "not at this time, but I know for a fact I will be making it to the Ohio State / Michigan game"
I think the key to getting him on board is getting some other top flight talent to join and recruit him. I think he is the type of player (he has said as much) that wants to play behind the great d line and also play with a great recruiting class. I don't view him as "our Shane Morris" so we need to find someone to get him on board and recruit others as well.
At this point, imo, I would say he is a slight lean to tOSU at the moment, but we've got a long hard road ahead of us

I'm not trying to read tea leaves here, nor do I claim I know where RW will end up. But he said Georgia is "home." That might seem like small praise, but for some people it's the most important thing. Don't know what kind of guy RW is, but I can't count how many times a recruit explained his college choice by saying it felt like home.
I know its unlikely but would be nice to have him commit early and get the ball rolling for this 2014 class. He could give us the same effect Shane Morris had for scUM this year. At the same time if he wants to wait until the Army game to commit that would be ok too.....just want to see him in S&G badly!!
I was thinking the same thing as JANGS78... I'd like to see a high profile recruit commit early and be a recruiter for us. I think if RW committed early it would go a long way for our standing with Hand, Garrett, and Booker. I've also seen him tweeting with Barker and Snodgrass about playing together. I know it all comes down to what is best for the recruit, but peer influence and developing that "dream team" could go a long way for us. Seeing USC and Scum load up the past 2 years, I am hoping the 2014 class is top 2.
It would be awesome to have a player with the name Raekown. I don't think I'd call him anything else, not 'Raekwon McMillan', 'McMillan', 'Whatever number he wears'. Just 'Raekown', or maybe 'Raekwon the Destroyer'.
I'd feel confident that if McMillan committed early, it would certainly help land other top talents. He would be our 'Zack Morris'. I'd really like to see McMillan/Hand/Snodgrass and either Garrett/Booker in the 2014 class.
i dunno guys, you seem to be wearing scarlet tinted glasses on this one. he came out and said he wants to commit at a senior all america game and doesn't want any doubt...i'm really glad we are in on this one so early, prob our only chance!
i will say this though, i believe the staff has already cooled on ferns because of this guy, garrett, and booker. judging by ferns' brash responses to alex and osu fans on twitter, and that he's not quite as athletic as these guys, i really do believe that. if michigan gets ferns to commit and we don't land 2/3 targets mentioned above, i think it's time to rethink strategies.
@triv - it's not a mutually exclusive scenario, we could have cooled on him before he eliminated us, and that would actually be very logical so early in the process..
OSU leads for now....long way to go though and lots of people at home pushing him to UGA....Urban needs to keep doing what he's doing
RE: Ferns- OSU would want him but it's just not for him as compared to other places...he is a great player but as you said if they can get 3/4 of Booker, James, Garrett, and McMillan they will be in a GREAT spot...Nile Sykes and Nyles Morgan are ones to watch as well
@Alex... If we get Mitchell will that have an impact on McMillan? Not from the staff's view, but do you think that would influence McMillan to want to go to UGA?
If ferns came to Urban and asked to commit theres not a chance Urbz would tell him no. And as far as Mitchell, i doubt McMillan is afraid of a little competition. Especially our very unproven linebacker depth
This kid is 230-235 lbs and hasn't even started his senior season yet? That's crazy. Looks like he could play at 250 in college and still keep his quickness and speed.
Over at BN, Kurelic in today's "What I Am Hearing", says McMillan does have a No.1 out of OSU and UGA. Of course, you have to pay for it to read which team it is, so I was hoping someone here may be a paid subscriber at BN and would like to share his/her knowledge for free.
Although I can't see the information, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that OSU is his early leader based on the number of upvotes to that thread on the site.

Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

Did that not stand out?
He also slips in a quick "but" after he states he's a Georgia boy. Urban's to lose IMO

@JANGS78 - Funny. I was thinking the exact same thing.

I'd probably rename my dog Urban or Urbz.

We didn't cool on ferns, he eliminated us. I for one would love to have ferns

Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
BK said while publicly McMillan says the two are even, those close to him think OSU is #1 right now
^Thanks. That's kinda what I was hoping/figuring myself. Long ways to go though. Bama will come after him hard imo...
