Hermitage (VA) RB, and Buckeye target Derrick Green tells me he plans on visiting July 27. Huge getting him on campus to meet the new staff. A lot of talented players will be in town on that day.
UPDATE: Green isn't going for FNL. He just happened to set a visit for the date of FNL.

Getting him on campus is good news.
I have a feeling that FNL is going to really going to be impressive. Hopefully Green will be impressed enough to commit then and help really bolster the 2013 class. Side note question about FNL, Are any of the 2014 QB targets going to be attending FNL?
I think that if the visit goes well -- which I think it will do and more -- then Green will have OSU as his leader and eventually commit.
Wait, he's coming the same day as FNL but not going to the camp?
Seems a little weird.
Good to get him on campus. Maybe he's realizing, with the limited scollies, he better get his spot or risk getting left out.
I'd be thrilled with him or Mizzell though.
HA... love this... I think we'll see him trending towards us the rest of the way leading to a commitment during the fall on a gameday official
Cause I couldn't go for three
Supposed to be visiting Michigan that Sunday. I think we're outside of his top 5 at the moment, though.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

how much more room does meatchicken even have?
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
wonder if he will go to FNL since he is in town anyways
Green doesn't need to compete...I'm sure he'll be brought by FNL to see the spectacle but why compete when you already have an offer? Of course Meyer loves when players like Sprinkle comes down and camps just to show you are a competitor, but there's really no reason to
I thought that was the point of FNL...to have the best players compete against the best?
Nothing against Green for not competing or anything.
Well I like the fact that players even with offers, still come to compete, because thats what the truly great 1's want to do compete, and compete against the best. Having an offer didn't keep V.Bell from coming up to compete. One thing about a football player is its hard to stay on the sideline, and just watch when you could be playing/competing.
Gotta agree with BuckinBama. If he's there and doesn't compete, it just don't look right.
What if Green will only be on campus for his visit during the day and not at night for the FNL festivities? It could be a timing thing.
I get what you guys are saying about competing, but you know Urban and the coaches already know what he can do. Everyone should just be happy the guy's coming for the visit.
Guys, it seems like you're implying that Derrick is afraid to compete. He's going to The Opening, and he recently took part in the Rivals 5-Star Challenge. I'd say he's proving himself out there.
@Tennbuckeye ... You might be right, could be a timing issue, I'm also glad he is coming to campus as well.
@Bassplayer ... I'm not implying he is afraid to compete, I'm just saying being an able bodied football player, and sitting on the sidelines is a hard thing to do. With that being said I love for those that are considered the best which he is to come out and show exactly why their labeled as such ... I'd match rather him commit, then compete!
Bassplayer: I don't think anyone here is implying that Green is afraid to compete.
