Ohio University Attempting to sell Alcohol at Football and Basketball Home Games

"As is the practice at many other universities, both in the state of Ohio and around the country, our plan is to offer beer and wine sales in our donor hospitality areas during our home football and basketball events," Schaus wrote in the letter, which The Post obtained Tuesday night.

At The Convo, sales would be limited to the Rohr room, officials said. Meanwhile, only the 3rd and 4th floors of Peden Stadium, known as the Tower Club, would be serving alcohol. A previous Post article indicated OU had expressed such an intent in the past.

Although limited in scope for right now.. It's only a matter of time before the masses get what we want.

OU is one of the drinkingest schools in the Midwest, so I guess I'm surprised it took this long. My visits there were spent in a Natty and Beast-induced fugue, but I hear the campus is beautiful

A man got to have a code...

In related news, Ohio University is leading the push for legalization of marijuana in the state of Ohio.  University officials have recognized an enormous demand for marijuana at university sporting events.

I don't think it is a bad idea. Kids at OU (and damn near every other university in the country) are going to drink whether it is at the game or in the parking lot before, during and after the game. Might as well profit from it. Also, wouldn't hurt the effort to get more students to the games.

On the other hand, OU has tried to clean up it's image as of late and I am sure selling beer at the games will be mocked. Unfortunately, the majority of the citations and arrests during the festivals down there involve non-OU students so it is a difficult image to repair.

I looked at OU to go to school and they are consistently on the leaderboard of party schools. Not surprising.
