Florida Still Has 2,000 Student Tickets Remaining

Urban Meyer, despite entering his third year of coaching at Ohio State, led Florida to a disastrous 4-8 campaign in 2013, capstoned by a home-loss to FCS Georgia Southern.

It appears the students are getting restless with their football team. Florida is in danger of not selling out its student tickets for the first time in 20 years.

From The Orlando Sentinel:

Earlier this month, longtime athletic director Jeremy Foley wrote a letter urging students to purchase season tickets.

Foley wrote: "Part of what makes The Swamp one of the greatest game day experiences in the nation is the pride and passion from the East Side of the Stadium and our University of Floridastudents."

He went on to write: ""OUr football team feeds off that and needs you there."

So, this is the state of Florida football: Their AD is begging students to attend the game.

Urban Meyer's seat is certainly getting hot down there in Gainesville.

If he can't cut it at Florida I don't think we should consider him for the Ohio State job.

I asked Braxton how his knee was before halftime at Berkeley and he said, "What up, man."

I hope they lose every game and no one shows up for how they have treated our coach and the shit they talk.

Urban Meyer left the student section bare.

Ha!

It seems to be working.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

Thank you.  I am good for about one of those per year.

F that.  Even Kiffin is too good for them, at least he can recruit.  They deserve someone really terrible like Bert.

Killer that rocked!!! I was working for a company in Atlanta with HQ in Gainesville FL at the time UFM was hired at tOSU. Me and a co-worker who was a Buckeye fan as well laughed at how overnight they went from speaking in growing terms about UFM to hating him. These fools are mirror images of the people I worked with at the time. Great post!

Because they wouldn't let me go for 3!

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

Why pay to go to a game when you can watch  players block each other in practice for free?

Yeah, well…that’s just like, your opinion, man.

Am I missing the joke as to why Urban's name is being used instead of Will Muschamps?

BuckeyeSouth's picture

The joke is that Gator fans continue to blame all things on Meyer despite him being gone for 3+ years.

Embrace it.

It's not a joke.

I am not very smart, but I recognize that I am not very smart.

Hove, you're absolutely correct.  I meant to put quotes around the word "joke".

Just like TTUN's problems last year (and this year?  Hello Offensive line?) are clearly all Rich Rod's fault not Hoke's.  Nevermind that Hokes best record came with the highest number of Rich Rod players.

This doesn't surprise me.  My fiance (alum of UF '10) took me to the game against Bert's pigs last year.  Four biggest things I learned: 1) SEC stadiums/environment are cool, worth going to see if in town; 2) 98% of UF fans hate Muschamp and are still bitter over Meyer; 3) the current student base is "spoiled", doesnt show up until 2Q and leaves in 4Q; and 4) for as bad as UF was last year, they still beat Bert #karma.

Even at $25, it seems like a waste of money.

Shangheyed's picture

Wow this says a lot about their program, sure some tough times but at least the students sections should be full...  at the very least they could scalp the tickets for extra dough (maybe there isn't even a premium on Scalped tickets either).  Either way it says a lot!

So... you would vote for a guy who just lead your football team to a home field loss at the hands of an FCS opponent over the guy who brought you 2 National Championships? I'd say that you're telling on yourself. STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES!
