Tuberville Still Making Friends in Ohio

Urban Meyer may not have loved every member of his first Ohio State class, but at least he didn't pull offers. (ajc.com)

This is too bad.  I was initially excited about Tuberville coming to UC, but I don't know what the heck he is doing.  He isn't going to have any bridges left to burn here soon.

I heard about this on the radio, assuming a recruit was going to go with Butch Jones.  You know what happens when you assume.  What an ass.

In Tuberville's defense, he said the offer wasn't pulled

has to be something to it. coach hall at massillon has barred tubby and cincy from campus long as he is coach for pulling offer from his qb. tubby wont win if he cant recruit ohio.

Sorry there is no excuse for this. I'll tell you something else if my son were recruitable Cincy would be the last choice to go to. He can't get back with recruits?. What a crock of crap..............I can't imagine that any recruit is going to look at this situation and say to himself "Thats the school for me!" Unbelievable

Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.

As a new coach at any school, your first priority is to reach out to everyone of your players and commits and re-assure them that all will be well with the program. This is just lazy coaching and no one has the guts to talk to these kids/parents directly in a timely manner.

Between this story and this: http://articles.latimes.com/2012/dec/13/sports/la-sp-sn-tommy-tuberville-dinner-20121213 ...well, that is pretty much all I need to know. Good guy.

What recruits do you think Urbz would not have offered from last years class?

What an idiot. Tuberville should realize how much talent is right in is backyard. Right now he is just burning bridges. The Ohio MAC schools, Kentucky and Louisville will definitely benefit from him being shortsighted. Dantonio, Brian Kelly and Butch Jones are going to see what they built destroyed in 2 or 3 years. Cincy should have hired Coach Coombs.

The funny /sad thing about all this is, it wouldn't have been surprisingly in the least if some coach who had, say 2 NC rings and the worship of an entire fanbase and school, pulled this crap. But NO. Urban Meyer is actually a decent man of integrity. Certain other coaches at his level (coughSabancough) may not be, but at least they're at that elite level. Because the world is a terrible place, we all know people will endure the most dickish behavior (or worse... hi JoePa) from football coaches if they keep winning.

BUT. In this case, we get some nobody coaching washout pulling this crap.

Who is Tommy Tuberville again?!! WHO IS THIS GUY?!! Who does he think he is?! How many rings does he have? What's his career win percentage? Is there one tangible shred of evidence that his coaching is anything but "mediocre" to "below average" at this point? Why does he think he has the leeway to act in such an incredibly arrogant and dickish manner? It's astounding.

So this improves Ohio State's chances with Cincy talent. Good.

Ohio State doesnt compete against UC for talent.

Only scUM, Mich St and ND ever get kids that we want from that area.........................and maybe Texas but Hicks was apparently trouble anyways.
