For his future, if he wishes to take it to the pros, I hope he red shirts for the entire season. He won't be able to return to the team in proper form and playing half the season won't help his draft spot at all. It is speculation but if the injury is significant I hope he takes this course. Having Marshal and some others on the team will take the attention off of him in 2013 and allow him more room to make plays. It sucks because most of that conditioning will be lost. I'd rather seem him come back fully healed. I wish the best for him.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I agrre IRRICOIR. I'd say if he can't be back by week 5, just RS and come back %100 next season. That can't be easy to recover from, and conditioning will be lost. I guess being out that long he will lose his rythym as the rest of the offense will be more dialed in, so instead of hoping he will mesh back in over halfway through the season, why not Redshirt? JMO
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
That means he misses Miami OH and Central Florida. I think the Buckeyes can win those two games without him. The worst case scenario is that he has to miss the entire season and redshirt. Relax, Buckeye fans, Hall will be back for this season. That's my prediction and I'm sticking to it...until I get more information on his status.
I have read that it was a tendon laceration and that it was a ligament injury. In either case we are talking about tissue that takes close to 3 months to fully heal. If it's ligamentous then a brace could likely be fit inside his shoe to take some pressure off the toe (I assume it's a toe if it's a ligament injury) and he might be able to play sooner. If it is a tendon that was repaired he will likely not be running on it for at least 8 weeks.
In either case a foot injury is obviously a huge deal for a RB. I agree that a redshirt might not be a bad idea for his future. Of course, because of the lack of details about the injury it's hard to really know what to expect.
I'm not sure what ESPN thinks the OSU backfield will look like, but they seem to be missing a very important player if they're going to list the FB position . . . .

Thats what I would like to know. Was he barefoot and stepped on a piece of broken glass?

Fun fact: that's Hugh Laurie and John Malkovich in that music video.

Right! That name could be interchanged with Mark Schlabach as well.
