I really don't know what mall he would have gone to where people would do that. Or why he would wear a UM hat on an OSU visit. Anyway, some fans will always be idiots. Honestly, I feel like part of this story is made up, but that's just my gut feeling. He wanted press so he burnt his letter and he got it. Especially the way he worded his mall encounter. Sounds like mostly bull to me.

I don't think he wore his hat to OSU.  I think he wore it in Columbus while he was there for a camp.

It just depends on the day.  I go all around Dayton wearing my M gear.  I usually get countless looks, but few comments.  However, a 70+ year old man asked me, "Son, don't you know where you are?" while at a Dayton Dragons game and a cashier at Lowe's tried cracking on my shirt, but screwed it up by saying "go Browns."

I know every group has them but I am certain that the worst of our fans are worse than the worst of any other school's.....

Besides, this kid has a hell of a lot more trouble coming his way in the next 4 years, our hill billy redneck Buckeye fans don't need to make his life any more bothersome.

4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off

I'm inclined to agree, but 'Bama's lunatic fringe takes that cake, and teabags it for good measure.

OSU's got a lot of fans, and a lot of assholes in that area as well.  We're some of the worst, but compared to the lunatics in Tuscaloosa--man, it ain't even close.

You need to put a warning up next time . . .  I almost spit out my drink all over the keyboard and monitor. Thanks for the laugh though!

90% of these recruit "harassment stories" are bull or exaggerations. Nothing like making yourself seem more important than you really are.

"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."

There are definitely some fish stories when rivalry tales like this are spun. At the same time, I probably have three dozen Buckeye fans blocked on Twitter due to harassment. I'm not exactly an enemy to Ohio State. Digest that for a moment.

I highly doubt people in a random mall know who a 2013 Michigan recruit is, let alone what he looks like or plans their day around his trip.  I'd never heard of this kid before.  I see people in Michigan gear all the time and I don't say anything unless it's game day.

If Ohio wasn't here, we'd find somewhere else. We rarely get more than 1/3 of our class from Ohio anyway.  Woodson, Desmond, and company make it seem like Ohio stocks us, though, yeah?

I guess Michigan would have found another couple of Heisman trophy winners and another Bo Schembechler elsewhere then?

Perhaps he hates Ohio so much because he performed poorly at the Nike camp in C'bus?

This kid is Michael Shaw 2.0 huh? Big mouth....little talent?

If Denard Robinson isn't careful with spooning all that food into his mouth, he's going to end up lookin'  like Whoopi Goldberg

it's things like this that make me hate everything that social media has brought us...5-6 years ago, this would have never even been a story. now with twitter, 16-17 year old kids are mini celebrities, to a bunch of obsessed fans, waiting to see what they will do or say next.

All talk, no walk. You notice how you don't see all of our recruits talking their heads off? Real leaders lead by example, not by shit talking the competition during the offseason.

"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."

What mall did he go to, City Center?

Its all part of the show for this group. They learned from Kalis that making these statements gets a lot of ink and puts their name and face in the news. Until some proof of the particular threats in the mall , such as a video recording of it happening it is just a ploy for attention. See Shane Morris.

His "death threat" will come in the form of our Defensive Line.  I say let the scUM keep talking. Hasn't panned out for those who talk in this rivalry. Including our guys (Boston).

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

Good riddance, no good will come from a kid who is either stupid enough or self-absorbed enough to post this on twitter.

Let him join the ranks of other Wolverines who never know what it's like to defeat the Buckeyes.

We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...

Apparently Joey Galloway did the same thing years ago. Obviously, he couldn't post it on Twitter.

Obviously the death threats are ridiculous. If the kid really did get them, its just a sad thing. I'm not sure why burning a letter is that big of a deal.

I do think its hilarious though that the kid says he "hates the whole state of Ohio' since his coach is from there and many of his future teammates also call the place home.

Well, he's not alone there. We (OSU fans) did create a song called "We don't give a D#@% for the whole state of _ichigan". Which is categorically untrue (we all like automobiles, right?), even if it is catchy

When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."

I haven't seen anyone on here comment on it yet, but the OSU letter he's burning has his hometown "Peoria" spelled incorrectly as "Peroria".

I think it's funny that people are still playing the whole naive card regarding social media.  If you post things online that are controversial (like burning an OSU letter) for the world to see, there is going to be backlash and you are going to receive negative feedback.  Posting pictures and comments on twitter is a direct attempt to receive attention yet when kids receive the attention (positive or negative) that they were clamoring for, we act astounded by the results.

He obviously should not receive threats but if my kid proactively burned a scholarship letter and posted it on twitter I would let him know that he was being an idiot.
