If you click the link in the story you'll see the following sentence:
"The NCAA has been in what appears to be a testy mood regarding alleged violations and lack of cooperation in wake of scandals at Ohio State, Southern California and North Carolina.."
Pretty sure only USC was uncooperative. Just say'n.
Buckeye born and bred. Buckeye til I'm dead.
Here's the report.
Tech will vacate wins and impose recruiting sanctions in addition to a $100,000 fine.
What's really amazing is the fact that Paul Hewitt appeared before the NCAA's Commitee on Infractions on 4/15 and nobody noticed. That's one tight ship.
Not as tight as they wanted it to be apparently....
I think this is good news for us--a repeat offender in the same sport with the University itself prepping players. I am just in shock at what the university officals did when compared to what Tressel did and the subsequent fallout--or lack thereof.
I can only imagine what would happen to us if the NCAA told us the Tat5 had received benefits and we played them anyway.
i guess the good folks at eSECpn are really trying to send the yellow jackets to a watery grave, if you know what i mean
It almost seems as if the NCAA is bracing the cfb world for what is going to happen with us in August. The wording of the explanation gives me the impression they are going to use this ruling as a benchmark for our sanctions so there is something other than USC to compare it to. Maybe its just my Buckeye centrism, but these sanctions relevant to the violations with both programs just feel like the NCAA is giving themselves an out when the rest of the world goes ape shit that we didnt get the death penalty.
