This is exactly what I predicted on these here webpages two months ago; except I had predicted that the University would hire Gene Marsh.

This is predictable, and portends nothing about Jim Tressel's alleged "guilt."  Rich Rodriguez was also separately represented in the Michigan investigation, even though he and the University were in complete agreement on their joint defense.  In the end, Rodriguez was largely exonerated and the one allegation against him, a "failure to encourage an atmosphere of compliance," was tossed out and a bland "failure to monitor" allegation substituted.  Rodriguez's punishment was a letter of reprimand in his file.

Gene Marsh is a brilliant choice.  I only wonder what took so long.
