You know, I'm not sure if that's enough information looking at their analysis. There's a big difference between Florida and OSU both go to Tempe (OSU has the shorter trip in that analysis) and OSU and LSU go to New Orleans.

I would like to see an analysis that only includes in-state or near-in-state games.

The other difference is poor teams might be more likely to have bowl games scheduled near them, and the better teams will be scheduled to go further.  Sun Belt and MAC bowl games tend to be pretty close to them and they are usually outmatched.
