Baylor's Offense: Going Wacko in Waco

That bear better be careful.  Fur and fire don't mix very well.

Doesn't look that that is an accurate stat.

That sequence of plays is not a 3 and out -- they gained a first down on the first play, then failed to gain another first down after that and punted.  Maybe you can call that a 4-and-out?

Unky Buck's picture

Yeah, I was slightly confused by this too. The first line even says they got a first down. But hey, we all miss things here and there.

What can we make of their handling of Buffalo?  They were up 56-7 at half, I believe, scoring on their first eight possessions.  Might they be a better team than ours?  I guess we'll know more as they run through the better teams on their schedule, but that win is mighty impressive.

I equate it to opening a jar. Someone tries and tries to open it and just cant seem to twist the lid off. Then they hand it to you and the lid comes right off with no effort. When in reality the first person did all the work and were right at the cusp.
I like to think Buffalo was all fired up to play us...we beat them up physically. Then they were deflated by the time Baylor got to them. Thus Baylor easily shredded them.

But if that stat is true and they have not yet had a 3 and out...Holy schnikes.

We did not use half of our playbook and were using the game as a scrimmage only Buffalo didn't roll over like we expected.

I love that the analogy, while appropriate and thoughtful, is ended with "- Chief B1G Dump" when put into quote form.  +1, sir!

Dairy-fed intellect and pure, unhinged sass.

I think Baylor is vastly underrated.  They're pretty similar to Oregon - put up huge numbers against bad teams.  We'll find out if they're for real against some stiffer competition (just like we always do with Oregon).

That gif wins. I don't know what...but it wins.
