Hey Look, Six Minutes of Johnathan Hankins Highlights

By Jason Priestas on April 18, 2013 at 12:23p

The 2013 NFL Draft kicks off next Thursday and Ohio State defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is thought to be a an early to mid-second round selection at this point (some analysts still have him going in the first round).

Now, thanks to the wonders of YouTube, you can play NFL GM and watch this six minute cut-up reel from Hankins' junior season at Ohio State.

That was fun. Kid's got a motor. Any team would be lucky to have him.

ugh. He will be missed. Watching those highlights, he was agile man. I hope he does extremely well in the league. Dude was a FORCE!

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

I wish we still had him.  Hopefully Bennet and Schutt can replace some of his production.

man wished he would have stayed

We were born to love Ohio State and hate that team up north.

Definitely a top 10 draft pick through the first half of the season. Did seem to lose a bit of steam though in the 2nd half of the season, but did still play very well. Fantastic run stuffer in particular, surprising sideline-to-sideline mobility for such a big man. It'll be interesting to see how Bennett and Schutt/Hale do; neither Hankins nor Goebel were supreme pass-rushers, whereas Bennett and Schutt have both struck me as potentially very good pass-rushers in the limited action I've seen them in. My guess is we'll have an overall better pass-rushing DL (Simon and Williams were both great pass-rushers, but Hankins and Goebel didn't excel at that element -- in Goebel's defense, though, NT's typically eat blockers rather than provide a pass-rush threat anyways), but a bit behind where we were this year in our run-stopping next year.

The offseason begins when your season ends. Even then there are no days off.

Big Hank's sideline-to-sideline pursuit always impressed me the most. He sheds blocks pretty well too. He will be missed.

Watching that clip makes me sad and happy.
Wherever he lands in the NFL ... good luck Big Hank.
