ESPN and Ohio State Team Up for All-Access Series
ESPN and Ohio State are BFFs again.
Ohio State fans will get a close-up on the 2012 football season with new head coach Urban Meyer when ESPN debuts a series of All-Access specials beginning August 14 on ESPNU and additional ESPN platforms. ESPN All-Access: Ohio State Training Days will showcase the Buckeyes as they train under Ohio native (Ashtabula, Ohio) Meyer who has returned from a coaching hiatus to lead the team.
With extensive behind-the-scenes access to on- and off-field play, team meetings and campus facilities, ESPN cameras will introduce players and coaches as they complete grueling pre-season training across six days. Viewers will see four, 30-minute specials on ESPNU (August 14-17), a five-part series across College Football Live Presented by Dick’s Sports Goods and SportsCenter (August 19-24) and a one-hour special on ESPN (August 22).
Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer, said, “Anytime we can provide behind-the-scenes access inside one of the traditional power programs, it's a treat for the viewers and the fans. Urban Meyer's success at Florida and the unique story lines surrounding the Ohio State program will add to the intrigue of this series."
For a taste of what the series will bring, here's video of the Sooners All-Access from last season.

This sounds like fun if I can manage to get home by 5pm...

Yeah, I don't pay for DVR, so I'm hoping they'll reshow these sometime...
If this isn't enough to get you to get DVR, you'll be stuck in the dark ages for a long time my friend.
"Because we couldn't go for three"
What?? (picks jaw off the floor)
Similar reaction Pam,...whats the over/under at least 5 minutes of every show is dedicated to slamming us?
"They don't know what they don't know." - Coach Mick
I am going with each episode starting or ending with how Ohio St. "is currently on probabtion for violations committed by former players and fomer head coach Jim Tressel covering it up.
With the difference being Meyer getting into someones ear about it as soon as he hears they are doing a diservice to the program. My experience is having a guy like Urban at the helm will keep people from wanting to step on our toes if at all possible.
BAH GAWD!!!

Help is on the way.

If Denard Robinson isn't careful with spooning all that food into his mouth, he's going to end up lookin' like Whoopi Goldberg
Um, yep. Can't wait.
Won't watch it @ my house......may have to go support my local establishment though....
This is going to be sexy.
Buckeye Football is a big sexy beast.
so does this make up for dragging osu through the mud for 15 months and suing the university? i'll watch it but espn can still kiss my ass.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Lets just say i'm cautiously optimistic..... call me a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like this is just a great way for ESPN to create more news at Ohio State's expense.
"What do you need water for, Sunshine?!" - Coach Coombs, if you don't love this man, you have no soul.
I'm guessing this won't hurt recruiting, eh?
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Guess this answers the question of how having Urban would change the relationship with ESPN. We're best buds now......wow.
Unique story lines surrounding Ohio State, eh. This makes me think they are gonna focus attention on the bowl ban, Tressel, tattoos, and etc.
these times suck.....
B-B-B-B-But......
THEY HATE US!
I almost threw up. Next they'll have a LeBron appreciation night at the Mens game.-_-
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
seems like a distraction
That does it! Shenanigans, shenanigans!!!
Fans of Ohio state, do you declare shenanigans on ESPN?
ESPN, do you accept this decree of shenanigans?
Well, that settles it! Everybody grab a broom, it's shenanigans!

I think I hear an echo?
hopefully osu and espn kiss and make up... keep your friends close and your enemies closer
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
ERMAHGAWD! It's like Meyer is using his previous year's employment connections to increase OSU's overall 'brand awareness' (if that's a thing) around the nation! But they were mean to us! I'm So torn.
Taquitos.
and espn totally has a big butt!

I will be happy to watch this until the second time they bring up last year! If it doesn't stick to this years story, then I will be pissed and I am sure Urban will too. I understand a backdrop and starting point but if it is going to be a constant theme then it is not even worth watching. This is a great opportunity for everyone, don't screw it up eSECpn!
So does this mean Herbstreet jumps right back on the bandwagon or will he still try to be a "conscientious commentor" or in other words, stab us all in the back and watch the blood drain out!
oh yeah, nothing on their "buckeyenation" yet either! That is what I love about 11W, they even scoop espn on their own stories! lol
My God ppl, when are some of you going to let go of this "ESPN hates us" mentality? 1) They were NOT the ppl digging up dirt or doing the investigating...they simply reported it. Were they guilty of shoddy reporting? Definetly. But they most certainly have no intention of bringing down our program which some seem to think. 2) You might as well get used to hearing about OSU's off the field issues ALL SEASON, in EVERY GAME we play. I don't care if its on ESPN, ABC, BTN, etc....you are going to hear multiple references about it. So all this talk about "how long til ESPN slams us" is really unfounded...we are in fact on probation and will not go to a bowl. This is something EVERY network we are on is going to discuss...not just ESPN. It's not a slam, just the facts.
I'll drink to that, Cincy. It is worth mentioning, though, that a lot of these responses have been sarcastic (at least that's how I took 'em).
Oh, I know some have been. But there are certainly still quite a few ppl out clinging to their conspiracy theories.
(i wasn't being srs)
Taquitos.
Sars? Too soon dude.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Spectacular random comment. Love it.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Nicely done.

ESPN HAS IT IN FOR US!1!1!1!1!1!1!1!1

@Cincy - I didn't really see a ton about how "ESPN hates us" in the comments here. Nobody loved the amount of coverage OSU got for Tat-Gate & what followed so an amount of soreness is both acceptable & to be expected IMO. I've noticed any time someone posts anything related to ESPN - you inevitably come on & say ESPN is OK. While I agree that there's likely no conspiracy, I do think many of the commentators on there did seem to have an anti OSU agenda. Some of them even called for firings & severe penalties instead of just reporting the story before all the evidence was gathered so...while they may not be evil - people are well within their rights to feel like as though ESPN gave OSUs football program a bigger black eye than it deserved.
Edit: last sentence - "feel like as though"....wtf? I'm dumb sometimes.
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
I never said they were OK, I also got rather annoyed at their reporting of stories before the facts were fully vetted. But many ppl feel like they were indeed out to get us....even though ESPN did very little invesigative reporting on our issues. OSU is a big program that draws large ratings so of course we are going to get more coverage than a program like UNC, UCF, etc. The only ESPN commentator I really saw hating on OSU was, surprise, Mark May. I actually saw more OSU hate from Doyel and Dodd at CBS who at the time acted like OSU was all that was wrong with CFB. Eve the hometown Dispatch seemed hell bent on breaking any "story" that they could. Personally, I feel like most media "hate" should be directed elsewhere, or at least not entirely at ESPN.
Thanks for the response - I wasn't trying to be a dick - just saying that some animosity was warranted. Yes others were wrong but it's ESPN that the stories were running 24 hrs a day on so I think that's why they bare the brunt of the anger.

Plan on having a team of CSI / Detective types scan the place for bugs, micro video cams and other listening devices after the "Worldwide Leader" has left the complex. Simply put..ESPN has lost my trust.......FOREVER!!!!
In related news...Neil Armstrong really didn't walk on the moon, Elvis is still alive, and there was a 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll.
Camp starts tomorrow and now this? I'm going to have several beers to calm myself.
Oh, NOW they want to be friends after they practically slashed our tires and egged our house.
ESPN is a tabloid. I agree with those who say that they will watch until ESPN reveal themselves as the *&^%% mongers that they are, and then turn it off.
You have to admit though, often ESECPN reads like the SEC police blotter. That is always fun.
Hmm, well isn't this ironic?
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

>> ESPN and Ohio State are BFFs again.
More like ESPN is a dirty hooker and will do just about anything for a buck. What does that make Ohio State? Look, I dunno I'm talking about ESPN and my rage ...
ESPiN IS A DIRTY HOOKER!
Breaking news: Craig James killed 5 ESPN's while at SMU
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
According to my DVR schedule, the correct date for the ESPN airing of the OSU All-Access program is Aug 22, not Aug 21. Still 7-8 PM.
