Ohio State to Travel to Duke for ACC/B1G Challenge

As expected, Ohio State will travel to Duke's Cameron Indoor stadium on Wednesday, November 28 for a rematch with the Blue Devils as part of the 2012 ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Duke will be looking for their 12th win in the 14 years of the Challenge, but more importantly, hoping for a bit of revenge for the 85-63 drubbing they suffered in Columbus last season. The telecast of that game was the highest-rated and most-viewed Challenge game ever, averaging a 2.6 rating and 2,618,000 households.

Other marquee matchups include North Carolina at Indiana and North Carolina State at Michigan.

The ACC, winners of the first 10 Challenges, will be looking to get back on top after losing three consecutive Challenges to the Big Ten, even after the B1G added Nebraska to up the difficulty level. As usual, the event will feature several of the nation's best teams going at it, including 11 NCAA tournament teams from 2011 and five of the top nine teams ranked in an ESPN early preseason top 25: #1 Indiana, #5 Michigan, #6 North Carolina State, #8 Ohio State and #9 Michigan State.

The full slate:

Date Game
Tue, 11/27 #13 North Carolina at #1 Indiana
#6 North Carolina State at #5 Michigan
  #25 Minnesota at Florida State
  Maryland at Northwestern
  Iowa at Virginia Tech
  Nebraska at Wake Forest
Wed, 11/28 #8 Ohio State at #15 Duke
  Virginia at #22 Wisconsin
  #9 Michigan State at Miami
  Purdue at Clemson
  Georgia Tech at Illinois
  Boston College at Penn State

It looks like they did a good job putting these games together. I am probably wrong, but I was always under the impression that these match-ups were based on the way the teams finished the previous season in their respective leagues.

I like our chances winning the Indy, Michigan, OSU, Iowa, Wisky, and State games.  Minny also a probable victory.  Illini a wild card, but def win potential.

GO.  BUCKEYES.  !

Last year's beatdown was my favorite non-Michigan game of the season.  The most compelling blowout of the year.

I hope you guys destroy NC State, too. I love seeing the B1G win these, hope we continue this little streak for a few more years.

NC State is going to be a juggernaut next year. The Michigan-NC State game is going to be VERY good.

M MAN,

Did that burn like acid as you wrote it?  I know a few years ago I was cheering Michigan's win against Florida (the one Mike Hart almost gave away three or four times, should've been a 28 point win), and it went down like acid.  Although if UM won against a team I hate almost as much as them and it makes the conference look good, I will give them a "well done".  Count the Dookies and UNC among those teams in basketball.

Will there be any way to get tickets thru tOSU? (Because there is no such thing as buying affordable scalped tickets for games at Cameron.)

I'm assuming we'll win unless Duke somehow improves from last season, although of course at Cameron wins are never easy. Hopefully the Big Ten can continue the win streak

with duke's endowment(bet it's a lot)  they need to ace that over glorified gym and build a new arena. unc did it many years ago. the dean dome is getting kind of old now.  there are high school gyms in indiana bigger than cameron indoor(i'll live in a tent for a week/i'm a big bang theory tv show clone/omg the 5th row) gymnasium.

Have you ever been in Cameron Indoor? The atmosphere is incredible. I enjoy the small venue. It's better than the Schott by miles.

+1

Northwestern's Welsh-Ryan Arean can get ridiculously loud despite (or maybe because of) being small.

Cameron Indoor may be an iconic venue but not even Duke can match the atmosphere we had in Cbus last year. So many stars ( many of them former players) in the crowd, the fans were bananas and we absolutely crushed the Blue Devils. One of my favorite games of all time.

You've never been to a Duke game I take it?

As soon as Ohio State is back eligble for the B1G Championship game, this is going to be a stellar week each year. The Game on Saturday, ACC/B1G Challenge during the week and B1G Championship game the following Saturday.

Is anyone else pissed that michigan is ranked ahead of us? God I hate Michigan.

Nope. It'll just make it that much more fun when we beat them. Two to three times this year.

I am most definitely going to try to get tickets to the Duke game next year. I had a chance to take in a game at Cameron about four years ago against Maryland and it is with out a doubt the best atmosphere in college basketball. If anyone gets a chance to go down it would be well worth it. Go Buckeyes!
