- As Chris mentioned in the comments, Cardale Jones has committed to Ohio State as well. He will be coming to Columbus after spending 6 months at prep school and will enroll in Winter or Spring quarter of 2012
- Ja'Juan Story stuck with his commitment to Florida
- Aundrey Walker of Glenville spurned OSU for USC
- Darius Jennings picks UVA. Looks like he wanted to play offense and stay close to home.
- Shane Wynn is an Indiana Hoosier! If OSU had offered he'd be in, but nice get for Kevin Wilson.
- Glenville LB Andre Sturdivant signed with Toledo.
- Toledo Rogers (DerJuan Gambrell) has announced they are postponing signing day festivities until tomorrow at 9am.
- Chris Carter was arrested today on accusations he fondled girls at his school. Obviously, we will not see a NLI from him today and you have to wonder if he'll ever make it to Ohio State.
-
DerJuan Gambrell is in.

Comments
good to hear Ejuan Price stuck with her verbal to OSU!
And Cardale Jones, too...after a stop at prep school
Is he going to play DB, or just being tagged as ATH?
Jones is 6'5 217 with a 4.93 forty...I don't see him playing DB
He's a QB
I thought the whole thing with Braxton Miller coming in would make him change to something other than QB. Why would he join a prep school, then redshirt to give him a two year cushion? I watched him, he isn't a great QB.
Lane Kiffin is the perfect example of "perception is reality" and "all style, no substance".
edit: kind of posted this in the wrong spot, but I don't know how to move it/delete it.
Class of 2010
it still confuses the heck out of me everytime someone chooses lane dbag kiffin and his recruiting violations over jt and bcs games... oh well good luck audrey, you're about to get seantrel'd
How firm thy friendship
The thing is with some kids and OSU, it that OSU is all about football and nothing else. Kids going to USC might not be going just for football.
As far as Kiffin goes, he is a loser living on his father's coattails who has accomplished nothing on his own.
Good luck big guy, work hard and remember what you learned growing up in OH about playing football.
I Hate Michigan.
When you agree to play with Kiffin, he gives you a go at his wife. I may sign up too. Tress just can't compete with that.
Rumors swirling that Andre Sturdivant received an offer?
Possibly to take Walkers scholly?
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
We're hearing the same. Hold your breath. The O line is looking mighty thin over the next couple years.
Darius jennings to Virginia. Not too much of a surprise
Marlon Brown, you son of a bitch!
Price signed by not faxed yet?
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
He's on the chart...
According to http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/football-recruiting/619979-11-pa-lb-ejuan-price-has-signed-his-loi-but-not-faxed-stay-tuned-14.html#post1867500 he may not have sent it yet

Great thing about Cardale Jones is that once he goes to prep school and redshirts - he'll be two years behind Braxton Miller.
I really like this class. a couple DL guys, top corner, top QB, some nice LB's(especially stolen from Florida) and a couple good OL. Losing Walker sucks but come on, we got the top center, a really good guard and a development tackle that will work his butt off because he is excited to be here. Getting Grant would be a nice cherry on top of a great class.
I think we need to get NLOI day moved up ...or back...on the calendar. I live in LA an recall chosing a job offer out here during the winter myself. I interviewed in Boston just days before I interviewed here....blizzard or bikinis? The choice was amazingly easy. Of course, Ohio State didn't offer me a job...
Is it almost time to listen to Colin Cowherd's annual "cold weather schools are awful lolol" show?
Then the next day he'll be all over Chip Kelly and Oregon's collective private parts. Is Eugene a beach?
Class of 2010
Missing on Walker is really bad. To only get one OL last class was criminal. Adams is suspended for the beginning next season & if we get a couple guys hurt/banged up we are in deep kimchee. We must recruit more OL!
And now the Carter fiasco, unreal.
Shane Wynn sent his Indiana LOI in.
Still waiting on LOIs from Hayes, Gambrell, Smith, Carter and Tanner. Curtis Grant will be announcing at 1:30pm
Sturdivant signed with Toledo.
A&M boards report Drew Kaser (Walsh Jesuit Punter) signed their LOI
Wow. Apparently Walker didn't hear about Seantrell Henderson last season. And are we gonna hear about Tressel's inability to closes down the stretch again? He already has a stellar class put together, but since everyone focuses on the hear and now, I have a feeling we will hear this again.
"We have a quarterback, obviously, that's kind of ridiculous running the ball." - Urban Meyer
Ron Tanner and Michael Bennett to fax from Texas.
All is well. Tress knows best. We didn't miss out on Walker, he missed out on us.
+1
Kenny Hayes has faxed in his LOI.
DerJuan Gambrell will now be signing tomorrow at 9am it appears.
Now starting to hear 1:50pm (was 1:30pm) for Curtis Grant's announcement. It will be televised on ESPNU.
Off topic, but necessary: Go here http://go.osu.edu/VOTE4LIGHTY and vote. Lighty still leading but the lead is shrinking fast. Tyrel Reed's write in campaign is gaining steam. Vote Lighty!
Now back to your regularly scheduled signing day running thread, already in progress.
Devin Smith is in.
I have next to no photo editing skills, so here's my hastily made creation

It's my gift to you, 11Dub. You've given so much to me, and it's time I gave back.

29? Holy shit!

Yeah it now says 31 so much for sanctions.
So all we have left to consider out of the five remaining is Clowney and Grant (of the Curtis variety), correct?
"We have a quarterback, obviously, that's kind of ridiculous running the ball." - Urban Meyer
Well, looks like I'll be watching THAT.
Edit: Boooring. Mostly just video of a fax machine. Sad.
Is this NSFW? Nice ass on her.
Not worth it. It really is just video of a fax machine. I suppose that girl walks past every once in a while.
No matter what happens by days end I'll be happy with this class. My only regret is that Tress didn't get at least 1 or 2 more OLman...a real need.

Are we still waiting on Cris Carter Jr.s LOI?
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
We're still waiting on Chris Carter, OL from Cleveland. DerJuan Gambrell (Toledo Rogers) will be signing/faxing tomorrow morning (delayed b/c of weather).
Any idea what the delay is on Mr. Carter?
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
Weather to the best of our knowledge.

Class of 2010
Interesting, but who knows what to believe with regards to where Duron will end up.
What about the kid that was being talked about last week who may come as a walk on. He has only been playing football for a couple of years, but his coach says he's going to be a great one? He was out of Indiana or Illinois I think. The mystery recruit that Bucknuts was talking about. He could end up being a real diamond in the rough pickup, and just isn't highly rated because no one knows much about him as a football player.
Delvin Simmons has chosen UNC.
I read this on Rivals/Yahoo. 5 predictions for signing day. May not be worth much, but seems like we won't be upset by Grant's pick today.
1. The five-star linebackers won't surprise
Look for the three five-star linebackers that everyone is asking about, Virginia's Curtis Grant, Florida's Tony Steward and North Carolina's Stephone Anthony, to commit and sign with the programs we've been predicting all along. Grant, despite a late push from North Carolina, will sign with Ohio State, Steward will choose Florida State over Clemson and the Tigers will be comforted a bit by beating Virginia Tech for Anthony.
......and then tony steward picks clemson this morning, lol
Didn't see that, but I'm still pretty confident he'll end up in the fold.
Well, this is highly unfortunate.
Yikes, that might explain why he hasn't signed yet.
vacuuming sucks
Well, better than boys I guess:(
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
There's a good chance Chris Carter won't be a part of this class, after all. He was arrested earlier today and charged with fondling girls:
Making Tress' fail on Walker that much more Epic and unfortunate. MAN, I hope Drayton is good...
#TCAP
What an idiot. What the hell was he thinking.
I was just about to post this link. NOT GOOD. Sucks for Carter, but dude, what an idiot. I am sure an SEC team will find room on their roster for him. Dammit!

Getting some rumblings that Gambrell may be giving Michigan a strong look...

lol, I was thinking one of the signs of the apocalypse was someone actually giving Cooper praise earlier.
that would really strike the first blow between Tress and Flounder
I Hate Michigan.
Can't lose guys to scUM
vacuuming sucks
+1,000,000
can't let Hoke get any foothold over us in Ohio
Off topic, sorry, but this is the only live thread: in the CD this morning, Thad Matta said, "'When I was a freshman at Southern Illinois, I checked into a game and let one go, and there was a foul, and the coach called me over to the bench,' Matta said. 'He had a hold of me by my skin on my rib, and later I had a bruise there. So I never shot again. I passed it when I touched it because of that. It was an everlasting impression in my mind.'"
Apparently, the red azz coach in question was Rich Herrin, who was inducted into the MWC Hall of Fame a few years ago. "The first years were struggles for Herrin and SIU . . . went 8-20 his first year . . . Herrin's SIU tenure lasted 13 seasons and produced three straight NCAA tournament appearances . . . He resigned under fire in a stormy news conference following a 14-16 1997-98 season."
Somebody might be able to write an interesting story on contrasting coaching styles, Herrin v. Matta. I'll take the Matta/Tressel approach anyday. A coach imparting firm discipline does not have to mean physical confrontations and/or public humiliation. Meanwhile, "toughness" in response to pyschological/physical hardship can (and should) be learned in "battle," (sports field/court), not in the coach's office.
BAWSKAT BAW???/?
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
I know, but there's lots of waiting in between "real" signing news . . . let's land Grant and then bball will go on full mute until Thursday.
Losing Grant will hurt. After Henderson, Floyd, Walker etc. it will be awfully depressing to see another 5-star kid get away. Fingers crossed.
vacuuming sucks
Grant will be ours. Bank it
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
Just remembered Kiffin had his foot in the door at Glenville. Didn't he recruit, if I recall his name correctly, Mike Edwards to Tennessee? We saw how great that turned out for Edwards.
here we go....
I Hate Michigan.
Surprised no one mentioned that Gambrell did indeed sign so potential heart attacks can be thwarted
Where have you seen this?
vacuuming sucks
He's on the list at the top of this entry and he's on the list over at Buckeye Battle Cry too.
Has it been confirmed that he got it in? If so, awesome.
The last bullet on this blog entry shows Gambrel is in and has a link. He's also 2nd from the bottom on the chart for the signing day entry
sweet, thanks
vacuuming sucks
Awesome, sorry for the incorrect info
Got Him!
Buckeye!
I Hate Michigan.
I'll take it.

Woo Hoo!!!!!
vacuuming sucks
Remember a few months ago when we thought this class wasn't going to have a linebacker or it may just be 1?
I do, then Shazier destroyed that dam
Hopefully he'll be destroying QB's and WR's soon after
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
Was there any Josh Groban playing during this segment?
Wow, so they spoke to each other about the class on TV?
PRICELESS!
"We have a quarterback, obviously, that's kind of ridiculous running the ball." - Urban Meyer
You know... I don't hate Rich Rod. I kind of feel for him. I would like to see him rebound at another conference and get back to the level he was at during his WVU days. How much would that piss off Michigan fans?
I am in this boat. I think he got in waaaayyyy over his head at UM. He had very little chance of succeeding there.
It sure was funny to watch him fumble around and look completely clueless while it lasted though.
vacuuming sucks
He was put into a bad situation and I'm not sure how many coaches would or could've succeeded there in his situation. I did always think that he was perhaps kind of slick and wasn't the nice guy he tried to potray himself . However, I don't know the guy at all. He did look like a blithering idiot for 3 seasons though.
He was in a bad situation, but he had no ability at all to adjust. He was used to being a tyrant, doing things his way without any regard for anything else. He didn't understand Michigan, he didn't understand how to make a transition, and once he lost support, he looked like a clueless fool lost in the woods.
