We were going to run a new Photoshop* for the thread, but with the way Evan Almighty is playing these days, we're going to ride this one out a bit.
Three burning questions for a revenge-themed afternoon:
- Will Mullens take another step in this game?
- Which Diebler will show up?
- Will Turner's first triple-double come today?
* We're still not buying into calling these things FARKs like much of the sports world on the internet does. After all, FARK holds Photoshop contests and that's good enough for us.

I don't get BTN. Fuck the east coast.
me neither. Fuck not being home!
i'm just gamecast'ing it on espn
"We’re still not buying into calling these things FARKs like the much of the sports world on the internet does. After all, FARK holds Photoshop contests and that’s good enough for us."
THANK YOU
the reason why the sports world on the internet calls them "farks" is because the sports world on the internet is mostly old guys who don't know what the hell photoshop is and they saw some kind of edited picture on fark.com (one of three sites they visit) and decided that's where it all originated. they were made in photoshop, they're called "photoshops" or "'shops" you technophobic luddites
I FEE VERY STRONGLY ABOUT THIS INSIGNIFICANT ISSUE
it's not just you bro, i agree that it's annoying as hell
hahah "i fee"
but yeah, internet high five, nik.
also beej just whiffed on a jumper but made up for it with a nice block
and then the finger rooollll, nice
finally some commentary in here! i was starting to get bored of this stupid gamecast.
was it just me, or were there like no offensive rebounds until like the last two minutes or so when butler started getting some? I don't remember seeing many (if any) osu offensive rebounds, it was kinda sad
so i just noticed butler is shooting 28% from 2-pt range, 33% overall. are all of our opponents just losing these games, or are we really that good on defense? I mean i do remember seeing a couple of blocks today, but since i'm not watching the game, i don't know if the rest are being missed because of us, or if they're just having an off-day
I think we only got 4 o-boards in the first half...our offense is just so stagnant at times. 11 turnovers is pathetic.
I think our D can really smother offenses. Besides Heyward's crazy first half, the rest of those dudes only shot 3/15 against us.
sweet
ahhhhh! we're letting them back in with these fouls!
yeah...the refs have slowed this game to a crawl...ticky tack shit being called against both teams...Butler's only made 2 FG's in last 10 minutes - but they've gone 9/9 from the stripe during that stretch.
hahaha swatterdale, love it
This is getting ugly fast.
Sure is. Our offense is non-existent. Simmons and Crater need to start getting better. Simmons cant buy a bucket and Crater has yet to take a 2 pt FG in his young college career. WTF? 9 FGA, all from beyond the arc? Stupid.
Missed free throws. Complete opposite story of the ND game.
i can't believe this hayward kid, 7/9 from 3-pt range...
Pretty basic, Defense 101: Find the Shooter! Granted that frosh put the last one in Diebs eye, but cat has 7 3-balls!!?!?!?!!? After what 2 or 3 you'd think we'd start locating him every time down.
I know...and probably 5 of those threes are from the same spot - the corner.
FIND HEYWARD this last time down, PLEASE
Butler with the ball and a three away from forcing a tie -- 9.7s left.
Wow. They really need to practice foul shooting. A lot.
Missed 5 out of the last 6 free throws.
Whew....
Exactly on the free throws. They are called FREE throws for a reason....Swatterdale's free throws may be uglier than Shaq's
Lighty got a good hand up to D that last shot. We'll take it.
Squeeked it out though...I had to Gamecast it myself in ACC Country.
Swatterdale did better at the line at the end of the game than Turner and Lighty combined.
Agreed. I'll take a win any way we can get it. Butler is going to win their fair share of games this year and with the week layoff and noon tip, I'm not surprised we were flat today. I don't think many folks had this team pegged for a 6-0 start.
On our way to the dance...
i don't think ANYONE had us pegged for a 6-0 start with those 3 in a row
They may have also been playing the typical "we're ranked for the first time, so we can skate a little" game.
Should have taken Butler and the points.
Don't get me wrong. I'll take the win, and the 6-0 start also. I'm nitpicking a little, but they really do need to get better at the line. It seems to be a continuous problem with Matta's teams, unfortunately.
Totally agree, TB. Though I think Turner's not the problem from the stripe (83%) even though he was only 6/9 today. Lighty was just 1/5 making him 10/21 for the season (47%). Sad.
Goonies on TNT, bitches.
I agree that the long lay off and early start played a big role in how we played, but I think a win like this may have been what the team needed. They've had a lot of success early in the season... maybe this win brings them back to the ground a little bit and pays off as the season goes on.
It's nice to get the W and keep winning streak alive, but still have the ability to go into practices and talk about how you were very beatable and keep the players heads from getting too big. I know thats a lame outlook on it, but you can thank Jim Tressel from my brain washing!
Butler made it a lot tougher than I thought they would.
nice. bloody horse is on here last week complaining about the discourse in the comments and then follows it up with 'goonies on tnt, bitches.'
Excellent point, JB. I hope half of practice is spent on FT shooting and running a shell offense. I can't believe how much they stand around on offense. I guess that's what happens when your PG's don't take control nor do they drive and dish. I really thought Simmons would be further along at this point with all that juco seasoning.
Chris, you're absolutely right about Turner throughout the game and with his percentage, I was focusing on his missing his last two down the stretch where it could've helped ice the game. For Turner, I'd say they just need to add some pressure in practice for him and he should be fine. As far as Lighty goes, he has to shoot foul shots until his fingertips bleed. Tough to do when you're in school, though.
This is a weakness that's completely under their control, one I'd like to see them get better at.
It's fun to watch them so far this year. Much more fun than last year!
No doubt, Tom. If Turner's going to be The Man, which he is, then he's gotta hit those down the stretch since he's gonna have the ball in his hands more often than not.
