Various Buckeye message boards have lit up over the course of the past 24 hours with news that The Yearned-For One will be taking an unofficial visit to Ohio State for the Wisconsin basketball game on Sunday.
This is completely unconfirmed at this time, but Monday's Mike Farrell piece for Rivals.com did mention that Pryor didn't get to see everything that he wanted to in Columbus:
"I've seen everything at Michigan, but I didn't get to see everything at Ohio State. I am still in touch with all the Ohio State commitments I've become friends with, but they're being really cool about it, not pressuring me."
If there's any truth to this, you have to feel even better about the Buckeyes' chances to land him. Taking time out of his basketball schedule to make a 200 mile Sunday drive to a school he's already seen is saying a lot.
Then again, one half of watching the 2008 basketball team could be enough to discourage anyone from wanting to attend Ohio State. Or worse yet, he could experience that raucous home court hoops advantage first-hand and be completely blow away by the silence and lack of enthusiasm. Perhaps they could pipe in sounds from the Horseshoe last fall?
Feel free to light up the comments if you have any further news on this.
(Thanks to CL for the tip.)

I'm hoping this is true and for the students, if you don't want to come see the basketball team, at least come for TP. Ill be there for both.
Assuming I don't have a lot of credibility to start with, I'll throw this juicy bit into the pot:
I have two "sources" that have seperatly told me they've seen Tress at his usual haunts over the past week (barber shop, Figlio) and during both occasions he excused himself from the public area to take a call. Both "sources" (the quotes should hint at how seriously I'm taking this) said that upon his return Tress made a remark (not directed to them, mind you) that led them to believe it was Pryor on the other end.
I know, this is like asking a child if he heard Santa's reindeer on Christmas Eve but, couple this with the slueth work 11W has put together and maybe there's some substance here.
"I’m hoping this is true and for the students, if you don’t want to come see the basketball team, at least come for TP. Ill be there for both."
nothing says you're a huge loser like going to a basketball game to gauk and look pretty for an 18 year old footbal recruit.
So, I'm a loser because I'm going to the game to support the school I attend and have rooted for and followed all my life? I'm a loser because I'm going to support my school and team in the recruitment of an athlete that will benefit my school?
James prefers to do his gawking at junior high events.
CL, it seems as though James doesn't remember, but you only look pretty for Erin Andrews.
I get your point. There are times when the Schott is quiet and the students don't always show up. If there is any game this year we need full support and noise, it is against Wisconsin, simply because we need to win this, not because TP maybe in the house.
I think you should refer and direct the term "loser" to the majority of older season ticket holders that get great half court seats but don't want to stand up once during a game and cheer for their team. Don't call me a loser when I come to EVERY game no matter if its Northwestern or UNC and come early to support the team. I stand up the entire game, scream my lungs out, and support my school and team with pride, and stay untill the end, win or loss. Those old folks who come late and leave early should be ashamed, not me. I'm proud. Now, every student is not like me but alot of them are. Some students did buy tickets this year and haven't showed up for all the games, maybe you could call them losers, not me. I will call you a loser for attacking me, a student who supports this school with pride.
I have to completely agree with CL on everything he has said from being there to support the team, to making sure TP knows that we support our teams, to the older season ticket holders who come there for a social event and not to support their team, to James being the real loser for attacking a student who only wants to support his team and encourage one of the best high school talents of the year to come to his school.
regarding Pryor, not sure what it's worth, and if it mattered that much, he may have signed already, but according to Ben Buchanan:
"The whole time it seemed like there were cliques, guys always hanging together. There was the Notre Dame group, the USC group, the Ohio State group. And every time when there was a break, Terrelle (Pryor) would always be hanging out with the Ohio State group." -- Ben Buchanan, Westerville Central kicker and Ohio State football signee, on the dynamic at the U.S. Army All-American game in January in San Antonio

CL you are spot on my friend. Too many old fuckers at OSU basketball games knitting and talking about Home Town Buffet are killing our home court advantage. There are too many of them at football games, but at least there are 30,000 rowdy students and fomer students like myself who understand the need to cheer for their team and be loud.
Oh and if you are a student, make sure your friends who have tix show up. I've been to a few home games where there were plenty of empty student seats. You guys are the ones that make or break the atmosphere.
I want to believe TP is going to do the right thing and come here, but I don't want my heart ripped out if chooses another school.
Alright guys, I just talked to someone that works inside the recruiting office and I was told that TP is confirmed for a visit and will be at the game Sunday!
CL is the man, one of my good friends, and should not be called a loser for supporting his school. That TP will visit OSU again unofficially says big things for us, unless he is coming to tell JT he's going to PSU or michigan. Hope for the best.
CL- Agree with your sentiments completely, but maybe you should take an English class next quarter
OOOOO! That's my native language!
I'll be at the game, thanks to an old codger who doesn't want to brave the cold. If you see some fat guy standing up, with no one else standing around him, that'll be me.
Go Bucks!!!
This is the recruitment that goes on and on and on..... kinda reminds me of the OJ car chase--chased him all over the place, interuppted TV for hours and he ended up going home and turning himself in (very uneventful ending). Pryor knows exactly what he wants to do, he just keeps finding ways to prolong the drama before he settles on an ending that will take him out of the National spotlight. If and when the Buckeyes ask him to redshirt next year, how is he going to handle the fact that he is not in the spotlight?? Is he going to work hard to challenge Henton next year or is he gonna bitch and moan and tear the locker room apart like some kid named Mo almost did?? I sure hope Tressel knows this kid in and out --- I will trust him, but he longer this goes on the more skeptical I become.
from now on, CL, your posts should be in MLA format and double checked by your english professor. People won't understand them until then!
Don't forget a works cited page!
Hey vico are you out there?, thought I should tell you that I can't post anything on ourhonordefend anymore....I keep getting an ERROR 400.....what the dilly yo? (sorry, my girlfriend was watching flavor of love while I was trying to do some work last night....it has REALLY lowered my IQ today)
I would hope that Tressel has already talked to him about possibly red-shirting. I'd feel a lot better if he did. Hell, having him running the scout team? Are you kidding me? Juice wouldn't have a chance.
Yeah CL, don't forget to add footnotes to your post next time. Honestly, the people who bitch about proper grammar on the comments board of a sports blog are far more annoying than the people they are complaining about. We're here to express our opinions people, not get good grades.
Agree 100% with you though, CL, we need to up the atmosphere and put the students down courtside where they can make a difference. The ancients that surrond the court and should keep their asses on the couch. There is NO REASON that scUM should have a better basketball atmosphere than us! None.
Here is a little scoop I heard on a previous tOSU commit:
Rumor has it that DeVoe Torrence will probably end up at Michigan State…..from what I have heard their “academic requirements†are not as high as tOSU (which he failed to meet) or as high as (his second choice) Michigan’s (which he also would not have been able to meet)
I could see Torrence at MSU in a heartbeat. Dantonio needs the help.
I wonder if Tressel had anything to do with helping Torrence get up to MSU? You know he doesn't just throw kids to the curb without helping them in their next situation.
[...] As expected, Terrelle Pryor was on hand to take in today’s Buckeye basketball game and the fans responded accordingly blowing kisses in the form of chanting “We Want Pryor” as the Ruler of the Galaxy walked in front of them prior to halftime. [...]
