The Buckeyes have now lost two-straight games as No. 14 Maryland knocked off No. 12 Ohio State 99-69 thanks to 58 combined points from Kaila Charles and Eleanna Christinaki.

#12 Ohio State 19 16 19 15 69
#14 Maryland 27 23 21 28 99

Christinaki did most of her damage in the first half, dropping 21 first-half points on the Buckeyes thanks to five three-pointers. Charles picked up where she left off in the second half, scoring 22 points after the intermission, shooting 8-for-9 from the field.

Charles and Christinaki led the way and the rest of the team followed suit. The Terps bested Ohio State in nearly every statistical category, shooting a red-hot 55 percent from the field, 61 percent from three and owned a 47-32 advantage on the boards.

The silver lining for the Buckeyes – if there is one – is that Kelsey Mitchell broke yet another record, becoming the leader in three-point field goals at any level of women's college basketball.

In addition, Mitchell passed Maya Moore and Elena Delle Donne on the all-time scoring list and now sits at No. 8 behind Minnesota's Rachel Banham, who holds the Big Ten record with 3,093 points.

The Terps exploded out the gate, hitting five of their first seven shots, going 2-for-2 from three to take a quick 12-2 lead.

Meanwhile, Ohio State came out flat. The Buckeyes opened the game just 1-for-9 from the field and 0-for-4 from three-point range to fall behind early, and they never really recovered.

Maryland stayed hot throughout the first half, particularly from behind the arc, hitting seven of its first eight from three-point range, stretching its lead to 19 points midway through the second.

Trailing 50-35 at the half, Ohio State scored the first five points of the second half to cut the lead to 10, but Maryland countered, outscoring the Buckeyes 21-19 in the third to extend its lead.

With the game at hand, the Terps coasted in the game's final quarter, outscoring the Buckeyes by 13 in the final quarter to close out a 99-69 win.

With the loss, Ohio State falls to 16-4 overall and 5-2 in Big Ten play while Maryland moves to 17-3 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

The Buckeyes have a chance to rebound on Thursday with a road contest against Iowa on Thursday at 8 p.m.
