Kelsey Mitchell continues to join rare company

With a bucket in the second quarter of Ohio State's Saturday afternoon matchup with Indiana, Mitchell scored her 3,000th point, becoming becoming the first player in school history, second player in Big Ten history and 13th player in NCAA history to reach that mark.

Already Ohio State's all-time leading scorer, Mitchell is behind only Rachel Banham of Minnesota, who scored 3,093 points in her career, for the Big Ten's all-time scoring record. Barring injury, Mitchell will almost surely break that mark before the season's end.

If the Buckeyes make a deep runs in both the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments, Mitchell could make a run at the NCAA scoring record, which Washington's Kelsey Plum set last season.
