Ohio State’s second game of the Play4Kay Showcase  went even smoother than the first as the Buckeyes cruised past Florida Gulf Coast 104-62 to reach the tournament’s final.

Kelsey Mitchell was the game’s leading scorer with 34 points, shooting 7-for-11 from three-point range. During the game, she also became NCAA Division I's all-time leader in made three-pointers.

Aside from Mitchell’s scoring, the win was an all-around team effort. Only three other Buckeyes reached double-digits – Stephanie Mavunga, Linnae Harper and Asia Doss – with none having more than 17 points. Ohio State shot 58 percent from both behind the arc and the field.

On the boards, it was the same story. No player had more than six rebounds, but Ohio State still won the rebounding battle 47-29.

The game got out of hand quickly. The Buckeyes outscored the previously-unbeaten Eagles 32-9 in the first quarter, shooting 58 percent to Florida Gulf Coast’s 16 percent.

The Ohio State lead stretch to 53-17 towards the end of the second and the Buckeyes let off the gas, subbing in bench players to spell the starters.

Ohio State cruised in the second half to a 104-62 victory. The Buckeyes will play in the Play4Kay Showcase final on Saturday at 5 p.m.
