A three-score line is still a three-score line — only now, it favors Ohio State even more as the team enters Week 10.
On Tuesday, Ohio State opened as a 17.5-point favorite over Penn State on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Buckeyes, who were a 3.5-point favorite entering the season, are now 20.5-point favorites as the line continues to shift in their favor.
Ohio State is 7-0 and ranked No. 1 in both the Coaches Poll and AP Poll, though Indiana and Texas A&M continue to gain ground in first-place votes. Meanwhile, Penn State — which entered 2025 with national championship expectations — has fallen to 3-4 after four consecutive losses to Oregon, UCLA, Northwestern, and Iowa. The Nittany Lions fired veteran head coach James Franklin following their defeat against Northwestern. They also lost Drew Allar for the season in that contest, as the star quarterback suffered a broken ankle in the second half.
The Buckeyes have covered the spread in six of their seven matchups in 2025. The only exception came in their third game, when Ohio State failed to cover a 28.5-point spread in a 37-9 win over the Ohio Bobcats.
Ohio State has dominated recent matchups with Penn State, winning eight straight overall and six straight at home. Despite the streak, most contests have been competitive, with the last nine meetings decided by 13 points or fewer. The last blowout came in 2015, when the Buckeyes rolled to a 38-10 victory in Columbus.
