Welcome to the Eleven Warriors NFL Draft Central.

The 2024 NFL draft kicks off in Detroit on Thursday. We have you covered with all you need to know before, during and after the event — where each Buckeye landed, social media reactions and featured stories.

The first round of the NFL draft starts on Thursday at 8 p.m., while the second and third rounds will begin on Friday at 7 p.m. The following four rounds will occur on Saturday, with the first pick of the fourth round set for noon.

ABC, ESPN, ESPN Deportes and NFL Network will broadcast the draft, while ESPN+ and NFL+ will stream the event.

Four Ohio State Transfers Sign UDFA Contracts

Four former Ohio State football players who finished their college football careers elsewhere have agreed to undrafted free agent contracts with NFL teams.

Wide receiver Sam Wiglusz, who spent four years at Ohio State as a walk-on before transferring to Ohio in 2022, is signing with the Los Angeles Rams.

Linebacker Dallas Gant, who spent four years at Ohio State before transferring to Toledo in 2022, is signing with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jaelen Gill, who spent two years at Ohio State before three years at Boston College and one final season at Fresno State, is signing with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Craig Young, who spent three years at Ohio State before transferring to Kansas in 2022, is signing with the Indianapolis Colts.

Other Ohio State transfers who are hoping to land free-agent deals after going undrafted include safeties Marcus Hooker (Youngstown State), Amir Riep (Lincoln) and Jahsen Wint (Marshall), linebacker Ryan Batsch (Murray State) and cornerback Darryl Sinclair (Ohio Dominican).

Only Four Buckeyes Selected in 2024 NFL Draft

Ohio State’s 2024 NFL draft class is its smallest in 11 years as only four Buckeyes were selected: Marvin Harrison Jr., Mike Hall, Cade Stover and Tommy Eichenberg.

Another Ohio State transfer was selected in Round 7 as the Washington Commanders drafted Javontae Jean-Baptiste with the second pick of the seventh round (No. 222 overall).

Jean-Baptiste spent five years at Ohio State before transferring to Notre Dame for his final season of college football. He had a career year with the Fighting Irish in 2023, recording 49 tackles with 10.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.

Former Ohio State cornerback Ryan Watts, who transferred to Texas in 2022 after two seasons at Ohio State, was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Round 6 (No. 195 overall pick) of the 2024 NFL draft.

Another player with loose Ohio State ties was taken 12 picks later. Michael Jerrell, an offensive lineman from the University of Findlay who worked out at OSU’s pro day, was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the 207th overall pick.

Seven Buckeyes Still Available Entering Day 3

Seven of Ohio State’s nine 2024 NFL draft prospects are still on the board entering Day 3.

Tight end Cade Stover was viewed as a potential third-round pick but ended up falling out of the top 100 picks. Other Buckeyes who remain on the board heading into the fourth round include linebackers Tommy Eichenberg and Steele Chambers, safety Josh Proctor, offensive lineman Matt Jones, wide receiver Xavier Johnson and running back Miyan Williams.

Ohio State’s two picks in the first three rounds are the fewest the Buckeyes have had in the first two days of the draft since 2015, when Devin Smith was selected in the second round and Jeff Heuerman was selected in the third round.
