A kickoff time still has yet to be announced, but Ohio State's Sept. 24 matchup with Wisconsin will be a blackout at the Shoe.

The Buckeyes announced themes for their September home football games Monday, which included a call for Ohio State fans to wear black when they attend the high-profile Big Ten clash between the Buckeyes and Badgers toward the end of the first month of the season.

Presumably, the blackout environment at Ohio Stadium means the Buckeyes will don their all-black alternate uniforms for just the fourth time ever. Ohio State last sported the all-black look on Oct. 5, 2019, during a 34-10 beating of Michigan State.

Also noteworthy among the announcements is that the 2002 national championship Ohio State team will be honored during the Buckeyes' season opener against Notre Dame on Sept. 3. The 2022 campaign marks the 20th anniversary of the Buckeyes' undefeated 14-0 run to a national title in Jim Tressel's second season at the helm of the program.

ESPN's College GameDay will also be on campus for the Buckeyes' 7:30 p.m. matchup with Notre Dame to start the season.

Ohio State's Sept. 10 contest against Arkansas State will feature a celebration of the new inductees to the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame and the appreciation of Buckeye staff and faculty. The game will also feature both scarlet and gray and Buckeyes Care themes.

For the Buckeyes' Sept. 17 matchup against Toledo, the Ohio State alumni band will perform at the Shoe.
