It's not quite rivalry week, but the Buckeyes are already the betting favorite in The Game.
Ohio State's annual rivalry showdown with Michigan may still be 10 days away, but the sportsbooks are getting an early jump on things as the Buckeyes are early 7.5-point favorites over the Wolverines according to BetOnline.ag.
The last time these teams met in 2019, Ohio State entered the game as nine-point home favorites before winning the game and covering the spread by a score of 56-27. The season before, the Buckeyes were 4.5-point underdogs in Ann Arbor, but won straight up by a score of 62-39.
The Game was not played last season due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Michigan, but Ohio State opened as 30-point favorites over the Wolverines – the most lopsided line in the modern history of the rivalry.
It's worth noting that this is an early line that will almost certainly change following this weekend's action as Ohio State hosts No. 7 Michigan State and Michigan travels to face Maryland.
