Ohio State's first freshman offensive lineman has shed his black stripe.

Greg Studrawa signed six offensive linemen for the Class of 2020 as the Buckeyes needed to reload in the trenches. Today, Josh Fryar became the first of that group to shed his black stripe, joining a number of other newcomers on what's been a busy Saturday.

A native of Beech Grove, Indiana, Fryar is nearly 6-foot-6 and has the versatility to play a number of different spots along the offensive line. He was rated as a three-star and the nation's No. 510 overall prospect. Fryar isn't expected or needed to be an immediate contributor, but he should at least provide some depth in the trenches.

Ohio State held an open practice earlier today. In the hours since, three Buckeye newcomers have shed their black stripes as Fryar joins running back Miyan Williams and safety Lathan Ransom. Eight freshmen have now had their stripes removed, in addition to running back transfer Trey Sermon.
