Ohio State has a new pair of "official" Buckeyes as freshman linebacker Craig Young and second-year walk-on quarterback Danny Vanatsky lose their black stripes.

Young was one of the most versatile players in Ohio State's 2019 recruiting class. An elite athlete out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Young played everywhere on the field and was a star receiver, but figured to play safety in college.

At Ohio State, Young has worked out with the safeties, linebackers and defensive ends since his arrival in the spring, and is currently training with the linebackers.

Vanatsky is in his second year with the program after joining the team as a preferred walk-on during the summer of 2018. Prior to his time in Columbus, Vanatsky played at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy where he completed 67 percent of his passes with 72 touchdown passes and just 14 interceptions.

So far, 11 of Ohio State's 17 freshmen have shed their black stripes.
