Ohio State and Alabama have perhaps two of the most passionate and dedicated fan bases in college football.

As such, Sugar Bowl tickets are reselling for an average of $458 apiece since Sunday afternoon, according to SeatGeek.com.

That’s 35-percent higher than starting resale prices for last year’s game in New Orleans and 40-percent more expensive than an average resale ticket to the Rose Bowl ($317).

Despite a mismatch in geography (Columbus is 911 miles from New Orleans, Tuscaloosa is 292), 23 percent of those currently gobbling up Sugar Bowl tickets are from Ohio (the largest demand from any state) and 21 percent are from Alabama.

Whether or not those figures hold? Who knows.

But at this rate, Buckeye fans should be well-represented in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Jan. 1.
