Ohio State has offered yet another wide receiver in the 2024 class.

Four-star Virginia prospect Keylen Adams picked up a Buckeyes offer on Monday, making him the 13th wideout offered by OSU in the current cycle.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Adams is considered the 168th-ranked wideout and the 24th-rated wide receiver in the 2024 cycle. He’s picked up more than 23 Division I offers, including Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Virginia.

In his junior season, Adams led Green Run High School (Virginia Beach, Virginia) to an undefeated 13-0 season. He caught 41 passes for 1,030 yards with 16 touchdowns.

As it stands, OSU has two five-star wide receivers committed to Ohio State in Mylan Graham and Jeremiah Smith. The Buckeyes would like at least one more receiver in the class and could potentially take four wideouts this cycle. Other possibilities include Jeremiah McClellan, Terrance Moore, Elijah Moore, Micah Hudson and Xavier Jordan.

Miles Lockhart to commit on July 6

One of Ohio State’s top cornerback targets in the 2024 class has set a commitment date. Four-star Arizona cornerback Miles Lockhart announced Monday he’ll be committing on July 6 after he takes his official visits.

Lockhart just completed a two-day visit to OSU on Sunday and Monday and has scheduled an official visit with the Buckeyes for June 24. After taking a spring visit to OSU, the Buckeyes are still considered a clear favorite to land Lockhart ahead of his commitment.

"Every school I go to, I just try to compare like, what they have and what they can offer," Lockhart told Eleven Warriors in February of comparing OSU to other schools. "They just can compete with anybody, obviously they compete for national championships every year, they can give me the education I need. If I go on to the NFL, they'll give me the chance to develop me. It's just a great atmosphere to be in and a great place to be. They offer you a lot of opportunities."

Payton Pierce to commit at 7 p.m. Tuesday

Ohio State will soon find out if it added a major piece to its defense.

Four-star Texas linebacker Payton Pierce, one of the Buckeyes’ top linebacker targets in the 2024 cycle, will announce his commitment at 7 p.m. Tuesday and choose between a top six of Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

A few hours before Pierce announces his decision, OSU sits in a good spot to land the 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker. He took his first visit to Columbus since being offered on March 25, and it was everything he could have asked for.

“I had never been to Columbus before but I always watched Ohio State,” Pierce told Eleven Warriors after his visit. “So I just wanted to come down and see what it was like. I came down and it blew me away. I didn't know what to expect but it blew me out of the water. It was great watching practice and watching the coaches. They're elite at every level of the program, from the coaches to the players interacting with each other really shows why they win so much and why they're so consistent. I got a really good taste of that. The campus and staff they have there, it's on a whole other level. That really stuck out to me.”

As it stands, Ohio State has nine commitments in 2024 with eight on offense and one on defense (Garrett Stover). The Buckeyes would love to add Pierce to their class and establish some momentum on the defensive side of the ball.
