Ohio State has expressed interest in a fast-rising running back in the class of 2025.

Georgia prospect Ousmane Kromah was offered by Ohio State on Friday, as running backs coach Tony Alford stopped by Lee County High School (Leesburg, Georgia) to extend the offer personally.

While the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Kromah does not yet hold a composite ranking from 247Sports, he’s picked up a plethora of prestigious offers. Kromah has offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Judging by his start to his sophomore season, it’s easy to see why Kromah has picked up vast interest nationwide. In just six games for Lee County, Kromah has run for 1,055 yards on 103 carries (10.2 yards per carry) with 14 touchdowns. He’s also caught 12 passes for 129 receiving yards with two touchdowns.

Kromah is the sixth running back OSU has offered in the 2025 class along with Jordon Davison, Harlem Berry, Donovan Johnson, Byron Louis and Gideon Davidson

OSU commits push hard for Damon Wilson

Ohio State is continuing to push hard in the recruitment of three five-star defensive ends in the 2023 recruiting class: Keon Keeley, Matayo Uiagalelei and Damon Wilson. Ryan Day and defensive line coach Larry Johnson stopped into the high schools of both Keeley and Wilson earlier this week with the pair coming off official visits to rival schools in their respective recruitments. Keeley visited Alabama last week, while Wilson took a trip to Georgia.

In the case of Wilson, the visit seems to have paid off, as two 247Sports Crystal Ball projections were placed for Wilson to end up at Ohio State on Thursday. Several OSU recruits also seem to think momentum is shifting toward the Buckeyes, as Luke MontgomeryJayden Bonsu and Bryson Rodgers each took to social media to make continued peer recruitment pitches.

Wilson took his official visit to OSU on Sept. 3 for the Buckeyes’ season opener against Notre Dame. In the coming days after the visit, all the momentum in that recruitment shifted toward Ohio State, as the Buckeyes were viewed as the frontrunner to land Wilson. There was further speculation Wilson could make a commitment before September was over.

Wilson decided to continue to do his due diligence and took the visit to Georgia, and currently has no more visits scheduled this fall. With his visits out of the way, a decision could be coming sooner rather than later for Wilson. If that’s the case, it could be good news for Ohio State.

Dijon Johnson commits to Florida

Former Ohio State cornerback commitment Dijon Johnson has a new home. The top-100 prospect in the 2023 cycle committed to the Florida Gators on Thursday, opting to stay closer to home.

Johnson committed to Ohio State the day after the spring game in April along with fellow Floridian Bryson Rodgers, then decommitted from Ohio State on July 30 after taking a weekend visit to Florida. Some speculation circulated that a reunion could be in store for Johnson and OSU even just after a week after his decommitment, but ultimately the pair will go in a different direction.

Ohio State has three cornerbacks committed in Jermaine Mathews, Calvin Simpson Hunt and Kayin Lee and the Buckeyes could be content to stand pat at three cornerbacks for this recruiting cycle.
