Four-star 2024 Georgia tight end Martavious Collins enjoyed both of the visits he took to Ohio State this spring.

Collins’ first visit to Columbus came at the end of March, when the 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect picked up an OSU offer.

“When I got the offer, it felt good,” Collins told Eleven Warriors. “I had been working super hard for that moment.”

Collins, a top-60 prospect in the 2024 class according to 247Sports' composite rankings, took another tour of the campus and the team’s facilities when he returned on April 16 for OSU’s spring game.

“I liked it,” Collins said of his second visit. “That was a bunch of people for a spring game. It was a very good experience and I had a good look at the facilities and weight room and all that. It was super beautiful and all that. I met with all the coaches, and I met with Ryan Day.”

Ohio State is primarily recruiting Collins as a tight end, so he’s hearing mostly from Kevin Wilson where Ohio State is concerned.

“(Coach Wilson) was telling me that he describes me as both a guy that can block and a guy that can go out and get balls and stuff,” Collins said. “He says the ones that can only block and not run routes or the ones that can only run routes but can’t block, they’re not as good as they can be. He loved that I could do both. I can split out wide or line up in the backfield.”

After two visits to OSU, the Buckeyes are currently near the top of Collins’ list. He hopes to visit Ohio State again sometime this summer, and will start to narrow down his school list sometime during his junior season.

“If I go to Ohio State, I know they’re going to push me to be a good player and help me develop on and off the field,” Collins said.

Pickett receives Buckeyes offer

Ohio State made an offer to a potential five-star player in the 2025 class on Thursday. Florida standout DJ Pickett became the second safety in the 2025 cycle, along with Philadelphia’s Anthony Sacca, to receive an Ohio State offer.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect does not yet hold a composite ranking as a 2025 prospect, but has already racked up 35 Division I offers including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.

Jones visiting this weekend

A four-star linebacker from the class of 2024 will be making his way to Columbus this weekend. Virginia prospect Kristopher Jones announced earlier this week he’ll be visiting Ohio State starting Friday.

Jones, who is hoping to land an OSU offer, currently has 15 Division I offers, a list that includes Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Penn State, Louisville and South Carolina. He’s ranked as the 101st-best player and the No. 9 linebacker in the 2024 class.
