The 11W Community Interview is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people. You submit the questions, vote on them, and then we pass the top ones on to the biggest names in the world of Ohio State athletics.

Ohio State's 2016 recruiting class–the country's fourth-best–had its share of ups and downs.

In December, a new name popped onto the scene, Brooklyn's Jahsen Wint, a former teammate of Buckeye sophomore Curtis Samuel at Erasmus Hall High School. Though committed to Temple, Wint took a December visit to Ohio State and flipped from the Owls to Ohio State in early January, choosing the Scarlet and Gray over the likelihood of earlier playing time at Temple.

Today, Wint, a month after signing day, sits down and visits 11W readers in the Community Interview series and talks about recruiting and his future in Columbus.

What are your expectations coming into your freshman year? Is there anyone who you compare your style of play to?Buckeye Since 75

JW: My goal coming into my freshman year is basically to do what is asked of me and help the team in any way I can. I want to play if I can. I compare my style of play to Sean Taylor. I say that because of how aggressive he was.

What are you planing on majoring in at Ohio State?Seattle Linga

JW: I am planning on majoring in business. Ohio State has a great business school.

What was it about Ohio State that made you decide to commit?MN Buckeye

JW: The tradition of Ohio State and work ethic of the team. It was something unlike anywhere else.

Can you let us know a little bit about how the recruiting process was for you? What was the best part of it, and what was the worst part?  – TennBuckeye19

JW: The recruiting process for me was nerve-wracking. In my early years I didn't know where I would be playing college football and the schools that I wanted to recruit me weren't. The best part of recruiting was actually hearing coaches talk about me and them show me how much they wanted me to come to their school there was no worst part.

Whose your biggest influence and greatest mentor?GWolkoff5

JW: I didn't really have nobody to show me the way. I tried to learn and put myself in good positions and work hard, that's what I needed to do.

What is Ohio State's perception in recruits eyes in New York? The Big Ten in general?Alpo

it's been great, and I feel like I'm role model kind of to the youth in Brooklyn.

JW: Ohio State has always been a big name here, like it is everywhere. We've not had a lot of big guys in the past but football is getting better here and we're seeing a lot more guys getting that attention. The Big Ten is a great conference and no one thinks it isn't.

With Chris Ash at Rutgers and potential early playing time, was it ever tempting to stay closer to home?Puff Daddy

JW: I have no doubt that Coach Ash is going to make Rutgers a winner and it's always tempting to stay home, but no, I never thought about too much about it. I knew Ohio State was the place I wanted to be from the first time I visited there.

Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?AZNChipmunk

JW: I don't have a favorite professional athlete, but I did grow up watching a lot of Ed Reed. He was hard-hitting, had a great attitude. He brought that pow-pow (laughs).

Did you ever dream you'd be in this situation? Entering high school what were your goals? Now coming to Columbus which ones have you set for yourself?CalgaryBuck

JW: No, I didn't think I would be in the situation. Entering high school in Brooklyn, you're not guaranteed to make it, but it was a dream of mine and I had to work to make it real. Now, it's been great, and I feel like I'm role model kind of to the youth in Brooklyn. My dream from here is to win as many championships as possible and go to the NFL.

Now that signing day is over, and the coaches are no longer recruiting you, what are your conversations like with them?WesPatterson23

JW: Now, the conversations with the coaches are just about business. We talk about how we're gonna get a championship, what I need to do to get better. It's about building our relationship and getting me on track to be a part of something special.
