Keita Bates-Diop was seen as fringe first-round pick in the NBA Draft, but that's not what happened on draft day.

The Buckeye star and Big Ten Player of the Year fell to the middle of the second round, where he was finally selected as by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the No. 48 pick in the draft.

It seemed like a steal then, and this year's rookies agree, naming Bates-Diop as the biggest steal of the 2018 NBA Draft, giving him 13 percent of the vote in NBA.com's annual rookie survey.

For what it's worth, the rookies selected Donovan Mitchell last season, with 19 percent of the vote – and clearly got that one right.
