Once expected to take an official visit to Columbus this weekend, Esa Ahmad chose to commit to West Virginia, today.

The four-star forward from Shaker Heights, Ohio picked the Mountaineers over Ohio State and Maryland, two schools which he recently visited. His last trip to Columbus was an unofficial visit. Ahmad traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia for an official visit this past weekend, cementing his belief in committing to the school. Additionally, Thad Matta and WVU head coach Bob Huggins were scheduled to attend an open gym at Shaker Heights, yesterday.

With recent news that Carlton Bragg left the Buckeyes out of his top five, plus Luke Kennard's commitment to Duke, OSU will lose out on the top three Ohioans in 247Sports' composite rankings. Point guard commit A.J. Harris is ranked fourth.
