Ohio State's athletic department brought in more money than ever before in 2025.

During fiscal year 2025, which included Ohio State's run to the 2024 college football national championship, Ohio State athletics hauled in $336,077,887, the most in a fiscal year in school history. The department netted $15.7 million after $320,394,965 in expenses. FY2025 began on July 1, 2024, and ended on June 30, 2025.

“As the collegiate athletics model continues to evolve, successfully navigating the financial landscape is a must and I am proud of everyone within our program who made last year a success,” athletic director Ross Bjork said in a statement. “While there will be continued challenges to our economic model, we will strive to be best in class by continuing to innovate and stay aggressive in generating new revenue streams while also managing our expenses as soundly as possible. We are grateful for every Buckeye fan, donor, season ticket holder, and all students who support our program in numerous ways.”

The $336.1 million fiscal year broke the previous record of $279.5 million set in fiscal year 2023. But with only six home football games during the 2023 season, revenues dipped in FY2024, and Ohio State suffered a $38 million deficit after bringing in $254.9 million in revenue. The Buckeyes made an extra $22.9 milllion in football ticket sales alone in FY2025. Ohio State played nine total home games during the 2024 season, eight during the regular season and its first-round College Football Playoff game against Tennessee.

The Buckeyes also brought in a record $68.2 million in donor-funded contributions, up from $52.5 million the previous year. Media rights revenues from television and radio also increased from $52.8 million to $64.9 million in year two of the Big Ten's seven-year, $7 billion media rights deal with FOX, CBS and NBC.
