so out of the top 50 players in the country (according to 247sports) for the 2016 recruiting class we have 1 player committed (Walker) and a handful of others that have mentioned interest in OSU. Below i'm going to list the recruits that have mentioned OSU as a school their interested/considering as well as kids who are committed to us, committed to other schools or locks to be Buckeyes(cough* Bosa cough*) The list is in order of their rankings from 1 to 50.

Rashan Gary - DT 5*

Greg Little - OT 5*

Kareem Walker - RB 5*

Nick Bosa - DE 5*

Nate Craig-Myers - WR 5*

Levonta Taylor - CB 5*

Brandon Jones - S 5*

Tommy Kraemer - OT 5*

Ben Bredeson - OT 4*

Michal Menet - OT 4*

Rashaun Smith - DE 4*

Demario McCall - RB 4*

Antwuan Jackson - DE 4*

Now out of these 13 guys , Michal Menet, Rashaun Smith and Levonta Taylor are by far the least likely to join this class. Smith and Taylor are both set to announce within 2 weeks ,smith tonight at 6pm and Taylor on the 3rd of April. Smith said he will have a hat from a B10 school on the table and i've heard that it will be a Buckeye hat but from everything i've read/seen/heard of him says he's going to be rocking a clemson hat .Taylor is a heavy FSU or VT lean depending on who you talk to. He wanted to visit OSU but his schedule and UFB never matched up to make it happen. Now even in a world where i find a 4 leaf clover, win a billion dollars in the lottery, and marry Zoe Kravitz i still don't think we have a chance in hell of landing him.

Now that leaves us with 10 recruits and to knock off to more to shorten this list further let go ahead and take away Kareem(committed), McCall and oh i don't know say umm Nick Bosa. Lets be really everyone knows Bosa is going to be a Buckeye, he knows, Joey knows, Urban knows, even sweet little old ladies know! 

Moving on.  We are sitting pretty with 7 kids still on the board (thanks for reading this far ! Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back or a small golf clap , whichever you prefer) For these last 6 i'm going to break it down into 3 groups. 

Group 1 - The Battle

Are you read for the first true show down between UFB and ...... whats that guys name? his brother WON a superbowl... oh yea Jim softbaugh. Rashan Gary is the #1 recruit in the country and happens to play the one position that we are shallow in . This i feel will be a neck and neck battle between OSU and ttun . i know bama is CBd to land him but this kid isn't leaving the north ,just a gut feeling. No, this battle will take place in the North on a bloody snow covered hill on the boarder of Ohio and ichigan . Honestly both sides seems to be evenly matched. Again yes i know ichigan is the "favorite" of us but we have a long way to go till NSD. In our corner we have a track record of producing top DT/DL that go high in the draft, we have the legendary DL coach LJ who has produced more all-american then i can count, and we have 1 of 2 players from New Jersey that he is close friends with and wants to play college ball with in Walker. Ichigan has its fair share of talented DL players to have good NFL careers but their biggest pulls are the form teams of Rashans that play for ttun and his former high school head coach is no coaching for the blew. Also i'm sure softbaugh is pitching the idea of being the face of a program thats going to return to its former glory, which is very tempting for most players. I think if we can get him on campus a few time WITH Walker then i think we pull ahead and end up pulling another young man from the Clutches of evil! If Jarrett should , unlikely, commit to OSU in April i think we increase our chance 10 fold. Now that being said , if Jarrett goes to Tenn. or Rutgers then i think this will be neck and neck till he sign his letter of intent . 

Group 2 - The committed 

Greg Little , Tommy Kraemer, and Nate Craig-Myers are all committed at the current moment to other schools (TA&M, ND, and AU) . Greg and Nate have both stated that although they are committed to their schools they are still listen to what other schools have to offer. Greg has mentioned OSU and says he wants to take a visit but im not sure how serious he is about the Bucks but he'll if the #1 OT wants to give us a look by all means stare as look as you please! Nate has also said he would like to see OSUs campus at some point this summer. Though what gets me most excited about Nate isnt that he wants to visit, or that we were(before his commitment) in his top schools , but its is relationship that has started to develop with current OSU commit Kareem Walker. Walker has already identified himself as the classes leading recruiter and it would seem he has his sites not just on Gary and Jarrett but Craig-Myers as well. Should be interesting to see what happens if they can both be on campus at the same time. Now last but certainly not least, Tommy Kraemer. Now i haven't heard a peep of him flipping to OSU but being the #1 player in Ohio and not commiting to OSU doesnt sit right with me and i bet it doesn't with UFB and his staff. I know it was between us and ND before he committed so hopefully we can keep in his ear all off season and see if we can't get him to change his mind and stay home. 

Group 3 - The Unknown

Their are 3 players left on the list now, Brandon Jones, Ben Bredeson, and Antwuan Jackson. These 3 all have stated at least once that they have interest in OSU but after that i have heard nothing . Can anyone give me some updates or any info you know about these 3? I know Antwuan is good friends with Austin Mack so it should increase our odds of landing him should Mack commit to the Buckeyes (which is likely, i believe). As for Ben i know he said he wants to keep his options open and visit a few place, OSU being one, before making a decision. Jones is a complete question mark to me. I saw one comment on here and then again on 247sports that he said he wants to check out OSU this summer before he adds/eliminates us from his list. Other then that i know nothing about this kid.

Now all this being said who do i se us landing out of these 13 kids i think we land 6-7 of them. My prediction in order:

1- Walker

2- Bosa

3- McCall

4- Gary

5- Bredeson

T6- Craig-Myers

T6- Kraemer

7 - Antwuan

1 through 4 im very confident we will land . Bredeson is a kid i've been saying from day 1 is going to be rocking Scarlet and Grey and i see no reason to go back on that. Now i have Nate and Tommy tied at 6 because i think they could go either way at this point . Theres reasons for them to flip and theres reason for them to stay, only time will tell. Rounding out the group i have Antwuan, i dont know where we sit with him but i do know friendships are a powerful tool when recruiting an athlete. If Mack commits to OSU before Antwuan picks a school i expect Antwuan will let that factor into his decision and could put us in the drivers seat. Out of the last 3 i think we will land 1 or 2 but not all 3. my gut is telling me that Kraemer is to far gone to pull back from the leprechauns tiny hands. I think the bond/friends with current and hopefully future OSU commits will sway Nate and Antwuan to become Buckeyes as well.

Well everyone thats my take on the top 50 players in the 2016 class that are interested in The Ohio State University . If your read all this and you haven't punched a baby seal in the face go ahead and have yourself a cookie!
