Lewis

It's been another pretty busy week in the world of Ohio State football recruiting and we're here to catch you up on all of the latest recruiting buzz and take you into a weekend where the Buckeyes are hosting a couple of the top players in the 2015 recruiting class.

2015 DB Marcus Lewis on campus

This weekend, the Buckeyes are playing host to Washington (DC) Gonzaga defensive back Marcus Lewis, who is listed at the number 12 athlete and the 112th best player in the country in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

"Yes, I will (be at Ohio State this weekend)," Lewis told Land-Grant Holy Land. "(I'm) looking (forward) to spending some time with coach Meyer and coach (Chris) Ash, seeing the facilities, and seeing the campus."

It's difficult to project a final landing spot for the speedy athlete right now, but a good visit to Columbus this weekend could make the Buckeyes a real player to score a commitment from him. He has been clocked at 4.38 in the 40-yard dash.

Lewis' is teammates with offensive lineman Richie Petitbon, who is the only player rated ahead of him in the nation's capital and also holds an offer from the Buckeyes, but the big offensive lineman won't be joining his teammate in Columbus this weekend.

I will have more on his visit once it has wrapped up Sunday.

Ohio State recruiting: Buckeyes set to host two big visitors this weekend (LGHL)

It has been quite a while since Ohio State has hosted top players in the 2015 recruiting class as the focus had been on the 2014 class since the beginning of December.

That's set to change this weekend as Ohio State is hosting two of the top players in the class in the form of Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro wide receiver Christian Kirk and Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga defensive back/athlete Marcus Lewis.

Christian Kirk, 5-star

The number two wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite rankings is coming to Columbus all the way from Arizona to see Ohio State for the first time. This visit isn't any kind of "Midwest swing", as he's only making the long trip from the warm weather to check out Ohio State's Columbus campus.

While he's in Columbus, he'll be able to check out the campus, spend a lot of time with the coaching staff, and also get a little taste of an Ohio winter. This visit is huge for the Buckeyes as it will be the staff's chance to make a good early impression on a player who is listed as an early enrollee. The 5'10, 195-pound playmaker has been told that he would be used in the world famous "Percy Harvin role" if he decided to play his football in Columbus.

Right now, Oregon and Texas A&M are the likely leaders for Kirk's commitment, but a good visit to Columbus this weekend could definitely change the game for his recruitment. He has already had the opportunity to meet Ohio State legend Archie Griffin on the trip.
