Early in the 2nd half Klatt and Johnson did an analysis of 3 running plays from the 1st half to highlight the OLine struggles.  I believe a lot of the talking points on this board today are a result of that commentary.

Let's look again shall we?

First play was a 1st and 10 at 11:34 in the first quarter on the Buckeyes 43.  I'm unsure why they picked this play except that it didn't gain much yardage.  Only gained 1 yard, but was blocked really well.  Chip went the wrong way.  Play is designed to go to the right and there is a lane to run through because of good blocks by Stover and Fryar who chips the DE and pins the LB inside.  Just like you draw it up, but Chip runs to the left for some reason and it's actually amazing he gained a yard.

2nd play highlighted at 4:53 of 1st quarter on Buckeyes 29.  The TV broadcast actually missed this play.  It is an end-around to Egbuka who gains 3 yards. It's a little slow to develop, Stover doesn't hold his block long enough, Fryar loses his battle, and Chip is the lead blocker trying to help Fryar instead of being able to focus on a 2nd level block. Too many people in a small space.  A bad-ish play, good example of 1 lineman missing his assignment and the play falling apart because of it.

3rd play at 7:24 of 2nd quarter on Buckeye 28.  Jones and Fryar pull, but the play is blown up because Gee Scott gets beat to his inside.  Jones has to help Scott instead of getting to block the LB, and Jones pancakes Scott's guy.  Trayanum gains 3 yards, but this play didn't do more because of Scott losing his match up.

Klatt kept hammering his OL-struggles-theme most of the game, and he is an astute analyst in my opinion, but I don't really think these plays were very good examples of those struggles.

A combination of a RB making his first career start, and getting off schedule a little bit early in the game also combined to a herky-jerky start for the offense yesterday.  It wasn't just the OLine stinking it up.

I would suggest that people go back and watch the game film before continuing to echo the theme that the broadcast hammered home yesterday.
