I'm really looking forward to the Film Study this week, even more then usual. 2 things really stood out to me on Saturday, and I'd love to see Kyle's breakdown of either/both.

Item 1: Yes, we're frustrated by MHJ and EE's lack of targets. Yes, it seemed that McCord was too cautious in looking to Stover or checkdowns. However, in the tight camera angle that TV provides, it certainly seemed that a lot of IU's strategy was to bracket MHJ - I noticed several plays where the CB was playing inside leverage and the safety on that side broke immediately to stay over top. I'd be interested to see how often IU deployed that coverage, and maybe that's why Stover was successful down the seam.

Item 2: I understand the basics of the jet motion being used to change the run fit assignments of the defense on the fly, but I got the feeling that motion has gotten really overused by Day, and it's nearly a dead giveaway that we're running. I think I only noticed us go play-action off of jet motion once on Saturday. It also seems that sometimes the motion brings more defenders to the hole than not.

Either way, I'm just a dude who watches a lot of football and would like to see if I'm halfway as knowledgeable as I like to think.
