I have not been this optimistic about a Buckeye defense based on the off season and camp chatter and anecdotes since,.. ever.
Even prior to the 2019 season there were questions about depth, LB unit and the 2018 defense left a lot to be desired. Baby Bear Bosa was gone and no one was 100% on the impact Chase and the other DL would have.
In the Meyer and Tressel eras there were plenty of positive vibes about the defense , but high potential for pedestrian offenses would offset that.
I should probably be more conservative and realistic, but it's too late for that! My expectations are through the roof now and would be horribly disappointed by anything less than a top 10 defense. Combine that with a base level Day offense anything less than a big win at TTUN and a Natty or close championship game loss will be a bitter disappointment.
Anyone else feeling this?
